Superintendent’s Report
1) Bids have been received for dump truck and plow. Low bid is from Interstate Truck for
13000 GVWR Dump Truck in the amount of $30,800, bid price includes our truck in
trade (gas engine), V plow upgrade brings price up to $31,405.
Motion by Mr. Mereen, seconded by Mr. DiBattista to accept low bid and get V plow option, this
motion passed unanimously.
2) Greens are in fairly good shape, with only minimal winter damage, particularly center of
9th green. Turf crowns on 9th are green, so warm weather should bring it back. Some
winter kill in noticeable in the fairways, some green collar damage due to
dehydration.
3) Course opened up early as we had little frost in the ground due to snow cover insulation,
and good drainage. Few courses have opened every green as we have.
4) Received rebate from Bayer Chemical of $3,600 which has been put back into the course
supply budget.
Professional’s Report
1) 185 members as of March 23, 2011.
2) Because of a discount rate available to PGA professionals, currently in process of a
merchant services conversion which should save approx. $160/month in bank fees.
3) Discuss discount for employee who is included in parent’s family membership. This
staff member would qualify for a student membership, which would yield a $210
discount, suggest same be applied to the parent’s family membership.
Motion by Mr. DiBattista, seconded by Mr. Mereen to apply a $210 discount to the family
membership of Dave Bohara as a staff discount for Brett Bohara, this motion passed
unanimously.
