Greeneville NRZ Minutes
April 2,2014
6:00 p.m.
Attendees: Sofee Noblick, John Mercier, Olive Buddington, Don Wojciechowski,
Kathy Strenkowski, Peter Obuchowski , Officer Chris Chastang, Jean Tardiff
Minutes: March 5,201,4 minutes accepted and approved
New Business:
Sidewalks: We need to take a look at areas that need repairs or new sidewalks.
Please make a list of the areas so that we can prioritize the sections and continue
the progress in this area.
Old Business:
Cameras: The Norwich Police Dept. has applied for funding to install additional
cameras on Central Avenue.
Community Room: This project is moving along. Heat needs to be installed.
Walk October: More info to come on this.
Greeneville Dam Clean Up: This will take place over two days. April 25th and 26th.
Saturday time: B:00 to 12:OO.Time to be determined for Friday. Saturday will be
clean up in the Dam area. Friday will be clean up of the Railroad Trackarea.
Meeting area for Friday may be at the Greeneville Fire House. This will be
confirmed. Bring your own gloves. Trash bags will be provided.
Strategic Plan Update: This will be an ongoing process.
Greeneville Day: This will be from 10:00 to 3:00 . Sofee to check on repairs and
changes to existing banners. Also the cost involved. Will be working on amount
to be budgeted for this event. Discussed the suggestion of "Taste of Greeneville"
or Chili cook off. Area restaurants could participate and give out small samples.
Will need to feel out the local restaurants to see if this is something they will
participate in. Will be advertising the yard sale at this event in "The Bulletin".
Norwich Area Chamber Boat Race: This will be held May 31-'t. Seventeen people
are needed as rowers. Six must be female. Will be looking for local businesses to
lend their support to this event. Discussed putting together a brochure
explaining the mission statement of the NRZ. Ways the community and local
businesses can participate in activities such as the Boat Race, Greeneville Clean
Up, Greeneville Day.
Meeting adjourned at7:45 p.m. Next meeting: May 7,2014.
