November 1, 2021 6:12 p.m. Attendees: Zechariah Stover, Peter Procko, Nancy Procko, Kathleen Strenkowski, Guests: Henry Fidrych, Sofia Potter, Peter Helms, Father Christopher Rogalski Correspondence: On Oct 26th we received a request for support for a grant from DEEP for improvements on the Greeneville Dam trail. This is a re-application for the grant the city applied for in Oct 2018 for which we submitted a letter of support. Zechariah extended our support as requested by the director of planning. Zechariah reached out to Norwich Parks and Rec about the peeling paint on the playscape at the Greeneville Play Area on 7th St and was informed that they were working on replacing that unit. Old Business: We had a successful Walktober walk along the Shetucket River on October 9th. This summer curb extensions were painted at multiple intersections along Central Ave with the help of community members. We assisted the Central Ave Laundromat with requesting the city install 2 hour parking signs in front of their business. The Police Chief approved and Public Works installed. New Business: A motion to remove Stan Kaplan from membership was made by Peter Procko and seconded by Kathleen Strenkowski. Motion carried. A motion to appoint Henry Fidrych as a member of the GNRZ board was made by Peter Procko and seconded by Kathleen Strenkowski. Motion carried. Nancy Procko recommended the chairperson send a letter of thanks to Amazing Furniture for the spruce up they did on the building at 5 Eighth St. This will be done. Discussions were had about having a community event around Thanksgiving time. The idea was entertained for is to be a craft event making wreaths and to call it “Hello Christmas”. Sofia Potter was put in charge and a motion to give a budget of up to $200 was made by Peter Procko and seconded by Kathleen Strenkowski. Motion carried. Other Issues: Divine Providence Church will have their next Polish meal on Friday, November 12 at 6pm. Members requested the next meeting be December 6, 2021 at the Greeneville Fire Station at 6:00 p.m. A motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 p.m. was made by Kathleen Strenkowski and seconded by Peter Procko.
