NORWICH ICE RINK AUTHORITY MINUTES FROM MEETING HELD JANUARY 20,2011 Authority Attendance: Mike Goldblatt, Mike Schermerhorn, Rich Wolak and Cheryl Ritacco Absent: Doug Barlow Guest: Jim Sanca and Mike Arnone Minutes Meeting was called to order by Michael Goldblatt at 6:12 pm, a quorum was present. Minutes from the December meeting were reviewed. The minutes were unanimously approved. Public Comments There were no public comments Correspondence There was no correspondence Reports Jim Sanca reported on the following: • Learn to Skate began January 16 with 250 skaters at the Norwich Rink and 150 skaters at Conn College • In June the Norwich Skating School will host a district competition, efforts continue to get local businesses involved with discount offers • The Synchronized Team will be competing in Marlboro Mass on January 22nd • Triple A teams from Massachusetts and New Jersey will be holding a scrimmage at The Rink on April 8th • Adult hockey tournaments are scheduled for April and May • High school hockey including St Thomas More continue their season • P&L report shows net income to be slightly ahead of last year New Business There was no new business Old Business Leslie Christie and her attorney, Shawn Rutchick, spoke to the Authority regarding Ms. Christie’s coaching privileges being revoked. Their objective was to find a resolution so that Ms. Christie could return to The Rink and be allowed to coach again. It was decided that Mike Goldblatt, Rink President, Norwich City Attorney Michael Driscoll and Mr. Rutchick would meet to discuss further. The meeting was adjourned at 8:35pm.
