NORWICH ICE RINK AUTHORITY MINUTES FROM SPECIAL MEETING HELD June 24, 2013 Authority Attendance: Mike Goldblatt, Cheryl Ritacco, Pete Desaulniers, Stephanie Davis, and JoAnn Beguhl Guest: Shannon FitzGerald Meeting was called to order by Pete Desaulniers at 7:00 pm, a quorum was present. Review of Minutes: No minutes were available for review Public Comment: No public comments were made Correspondence Cheryl Ritacco made a motion to accept communication from James Gaskell, Stephanie Davis seconded it. The motion was passed unanimously. New Business Rink closure update, next steps Pete Desaulniers talks about focusing on the future of the Rink as a whole and the three options that are available. 1) Re-tubing the chiller 2) Replacing chiller with used chiller 3) New chiller Discussion on the three options and the pros and cons of each takes place. Pete feels like a new chiller is the best long term solution, but we may not get the new one until October 2013. Jeff Brining from NPU is looking into the rental chiller option again to be up and running in August and until the new chiller is installed and ready. After discussion on the options and the rental chiller Mike Goldblatt makes a motion to rent a bypass chiller until a new chiller is ordered and installed. Cheryl Ritacco seconds the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Old Business Authority Applications There are either three of four applicants for the Rink Authority Board; there are two positions open. Pete is going to work on this with the City Council. Rink Director Applications After a brief discussion on availability the Authority scheduled a Special Meeting on July 10, 2013 with executive session to review the applications for the Rink Director position and to set up dates for interviews with applicants. Executive Session It was agreed that there was no business that warranted executive session. At 7:53pm Stephanie Davis makes a motion to adjourn, Mike Goldblatt seconds the motion.
