NORWICH ICE ARENA AUTHORITY MINUTES FROM MEETING HELD July 15th, 2015 Authority Attendance: Pete Desaulniers, JoAnn Beguhl, Cheryl Ritacco, Gary Makowicki, Angela Duhaime Not in Attendance: Mark Bettencourt Meeting was called to order by Pete Desaulniers at 7:08 pm, a quorum was present. Review of the Minutes from May 20, 2015: JoAnne Beghul made a motion to approve the minutes from May 20, 2015; Gary Makowicki seconded the motion, which passed unanimously . Public Comments There were no public comments. Correspondence On June 14, 2015, Lisa Fedick sent an email replay to Pete Desaulniers. This email was in response to a letter sent on May 29, 2015 in reference to concerns raised by the Ice Arena Authority regarding the execution of items outlined in Section 7.5 Snack Bar, Pro Shop, Related Facilities of the Lease Agreement. Lisa informed the Authority “They have started to bring in inventory and technically are open now. As we get closer to the fall season, they will increase the inventory and hours of operation.” And the concession “should be operational on or before August 1, 2015.” It should be noted that the Ice Arena Authority continues to be extremely concerned with the lack of a fully functional pro shop and concession stand. We believe this is a gross disservice to the patrons of the arena and could cause irrefutable damage to its reputation. Even following numerous inquiries and voicing our concern to Rose Garden Arena, the Authority feels that the situation is still not rectified. Based on correspondence noted above, we would expect the concession stand to be operational by August 1, 2015. A letter was received requesting a refund for unused punch card skating hours. The letter did not include a specified dollar amount. The Authority has previously agreed to a no cash refund policy but will provide ice time equal to the time of purchase value. A reply will be sent requesting more information including proof of purchase Old Business There were no items for old business on the agenda. New Business A. All financials and reports were reviewed. B. No expenses needed approval. C. The roof replacement is on hold. The Authority will not be responsible for damages incurred if any leaks or issues so happen in the meantime. D. Pete Desaulniers will also follow up to inquiry about the disposal for equipment in storage, there is still no update on how to proceed. Cheryl also offered to inquire about necessary steps in the case of liquidation. Update from Management There was no update from management.
