Norwich Ice Arena Authority Regular Meeting The Norwich Municipal Ice Rink 641 New London Turnpike Minutes July 17, 2019 1. Call to Order – Chairman Bettencourt called the meeting to order at 6:10pm. 2. Determination of Quorum – All members were present as well as Shannon Fitzgerald from RGIA. 3. Acceptance of Minutes from Previous Meeting-On motion from Gary Makowicki, Seconded by Mark Sicuso, the minutes from the January 16, 2019 meeting were accepted as presented unanimously. 4. Public Comment none 5. Correspondence - none submitted 6. Old Business 1. Update and discussion regarding lease terms – There was no response from Tony Madeira regarding request for an update on the lease status via email. The request noted Joann Beguhl’s email. She had stated that a budget from RGIA was required for us to estimate revenue for our budget. 2. Signage – Motion by Mark Sicuso, second by Joann Beguhl to approve up to $4500 to refurbish the wooden rink sign by the road. Passed unanimously. 7. New Business 1. Budget approval – On motion by Mark Bettencourt, seconded by Mark Sicuso, the Authority Budget, as presented by the Finance Department was approved 3-1 with Joann Beguhl voting against because of the lack of a RGIA budget. 2. Anything else to be brought before the authority Shanon Fitzgerald reported to the Authority: • The Rec Director did reach out to the rink but there wasn’t any follow up.  • The have been no roof leaks since the last issue and the gutters are cleaned regularly. • The sound system was finished back in January. • The rink was used as a location for February filming. • The dehumidifier fan broke and was repaired preventing any mold from developing. • Parking lot lighting has remained an issue but work is being coordinated with Tony Madeira. Prime Electric has been on site working on the issue. 8.
