MOHEGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Thursday, November 9, 2017 – 6:30 P.M. Norwich Public Works Conference Room 50 Clinton Avenue, Norwich, CT Regular Meeting MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Beryl Fishbone at 6:30 P.M. Committee members present: Beryl Fishbone, Bill Barbuto, Judy Magnano, Rebecca Melucci, Samantha Venturo, Alderwoman Joanne Philbrick, Ryan Thompson (Ex-Officio). Absent: Kyle Seitz. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Upon a motion by Rebecca Melucci, seconded by Bill Barbuto, the committee unanimously approved the minutes of the regular meeting held on September 14, 2017. 3. FINANCIAL REPORT Upon a motion by Joanne Philbrick, seconded by Rebecca Melucci, the Committee unanimously approved the financial report. 4. OLD BUSINESS a. Water tank update: NPU representative, Chris LaRose updated the committee regarding the positive progress of the water tank. Tank structure should be completed Thanksgiving week. Pressure testing, filling, disinfecting should begin the first week of December and the tank should be brought on-line the week between Christmas and New Years. The committee was allowed to choose the tank color from swatches provided by NPU. b. Chelsea Gardens: Alderwoman Joanne Philbrick will ask the City Council to request an update on Chelsea Botanical Gardens progress. c. Recognition of gentleman that picks up trash in the park: Robert Dotolo will be recognized at the November 20, 2017 City Council meeting. d. Request from Norwich Tech for June 5K race. e. Beryl Fishbone and Samantha Venturo noted various trail activities occurring in April. 5. CITIZEN COMMENT 6. OTHER BUSINESS 7. ADJOURNMENT Motion was made to adjourn by Rebecca Melucci, seconded by Samantha Venturo and voted unanimously by the committee. The meeting adjourned at 7:28 P.M.
