MOHEGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Thursday, July 12, 2018 – 7:30 P.M. Norwich Public Works Conference Room 50 Clinton Avenue, Norwich, CT Regular Meeting MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Beryl Fishbone at 7:30 P.M. Committee members present: Beryl Fishbone, Bill Barbuto, Judy Magnano, Kyle Seitz, Rebecca Melucci , Alderman Sam Browning, Patrick McLaughlin (filling in for Ryan Thompson (Ex-Officio). Absent: Samantha Venturo, Ryan Thompson (Ex-Officio) 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Upon a motion by Kyle Seitz, seconded by Rebecca Melucci, the committee unanimously approved the minutes of the regular meeting held on May 10, 2018. 3. FINANCIAL REPORT A motion to accept the financial report provided by Patrick McLaughlin was made by Rebecca Melucci and seconded by Bill Barbuto. 4. OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE Bill Barbuto suggested the committee send a thank you letter to the Norwich City Council for providing funds to open the beach at Mohegan Park. 5. OLD BUSINESS a. Water tank update: No update. b. Handicap parking spaces: No update. c. Chelsea Gardens: Since Sam Browning had offered $100 toward the planting of new trees in the Chelsea Gardens area and the recommendation from the State Forrester was to leave the area untouched, it was suggested that DPW look into planting in another area of the park. Rebecca Melucci suggested replacing dying pine trees on Mohegan Park Road. d. Food Truck Event: Sam Browning suggested redrawing a resolution regarding procedures and language for a food truck event next year in possible conjunction with Family Fun Day or another event. e. Disc Golf: Kyle Seitz has been in contact with Greg Wintrop, a disk golf professional, who has created courses in other parts of the state. He has almost completed prospectuses for two 18 hole courses and is looking forward to meeting with Ryan Thompson. Kyle will update us on progress.  6. CITIZEN COMMENT 7. OTHER BUSINESS 8.
