There was no meeting in May as we lacked a Quorum.
3. FINANCIAL REPORT
The financial report was provided by Pat Mclaughlin, Interest was earned and there
were no expenditures. Our Committee noticed the Increased Interest being earned on
recent statements and we credit The City Treasurer Michael Gualtieri for his work with
Norwich's Investments. Motion made by Bill Barbuto to Accept the Financial Report as
stated and seconded by Rebecca Melucci.
4. OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE Louis & Beatrice Dalsass, 359 Harland
rd, Norwich,CT had written a Complaint with their concerns of “ Unsafe
Pedestrian Path on Spaulding Pond” to Mayor Nystrom. He hoped our
Committee could come up with a Solution. Most of us walk the path
occasionally and have not seen many bikers or skateboards on it. The overall
sight lines ahead should provide plenty of time to pass safely. We don't want to
encourage the use of the path for those activities but we realize the town does
not have many safe biking areas. We are all acutely aware & concerned
with the Safety for All who use the Path around Spaulding Pond. However we
felt it would be near impossible to Enforce & Prohibit the use of bikes or
skateboards on it. So at this time Pat Mclaughlin said he could provide Signage
to be installed near all the access points by the parking lots to read “ Pedestrians
have the Right Of Way.”
