MOHEGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Thursday, June 4, 2020 – 6:00 P.M. Special Meeting A virtual meeting to comply with the directive of Executive Order 7B-1 issued by Governor Ned Lamont on March 14, 2020 together with any Executive Orders subsequently issued which pertain to such meetings. MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Beryl Fishbone at 6:01 P.M. Committee members participating: Beryl Fishbone, Judy Magnano, Rebecca Melucci, Samantha Venturo, Kyle Seitz, Alderwoman Stacy Gould, Patrick McLaughlin (Ex-Officio). 2. OLD BUSINESS a. Possible changes of disc golf course location – Advantages of relocating the proposed disc golf course from the former Chelsea Gardens area to an area near the large pavilion were discussed. Advantages include: Proximity to bus stop, no need for a parking lot, easier to develop course with old trails and existing paths, closer to Mohegan Park Road apartments, reduced preparation, lower environmental impact, water and facilities available and use of this area would discourage squatters. The new area would not affect pavilion rentals but possibly increase desire to rent. Kyle Seitz volunteered to clean up 2 areas that were being used by squatters. A motion was made by Alderwoman Stacy Gould to send a positive recommendation that the change to this new location be reviewed by Attorney Driscoll and included in the council’s agenda setting meeting on June 8, 2020. The motion was seconded by Kyle Seitz and voted unanimously by the committee. 3. ADJOURNMENT Motion was made to adjourn by Kyle Seitz, seconded by Judy Magnano and voted unanimously by the committee. The meeting adjourned at 6:12 P.M.
