MOHEGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Thursday, January 14, 2021 – 6:30 P.M. Regular Meeting A virtual meeting to comply with the directive of Executive Order 7B-1 issued by Governor Ned Lamont on March 14, 2020 together with any Executive Orders subsequently issued which pertain to such meetings. MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Beryl Fishbone at 6:31 P.M. Committee members present: Beryl Fishbone, Samantha Venturo, Judy Magnano, Alderwoman Stacy Gould, Patrick McLaughlin (Ex-Officio). Absent: Rebecca Melucci (excused), Kyle Seitz has relocated. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Stacy Gould to accept the minutes of the November 10, 2020 meeting, seconded by Judy Magnano and voted unanimously by the committee. 3. NEW BUSINESS a. The election of MPIDAC Chairperson and MPIDAC Secretary was tabled until the next meeting. b. Beryl Fishbone suggested we ask the Recreation Dept. to participate in games of Hide & Seek in the park. It would involve specific signs with photos of various items of interest to locate. Beryl Fishbone also suggested establishing a library of park photos. c. Beryl Fishbone will explore the cost of purchasing promotional Disc Golf discs and labels. 4. OLD BUSINESS a. Beryl Fishbone reminded all interested MPIDAC members need to reapply. Stacy Gould reminded anyone wishing to resign that a letter to Betsy Barrett is necessary. b. Disc Golf Update: It was reported that there is a great deal of usage of the new Disc Golf course. Kyle Seitz related that he no longer has the time to build the final piece of the course, the kiosk. Cedar Structures in Franklin, CT submitted a proposal to build for the amount of $700. Stacy Gould made a motion to extend $700 to purchase and install the kiosk from the  Disc Golf funds. Beryl Fishbone seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved. c. Stacy Gould discussed dissolving the Disc Golf subcommittee after the kiosk completion. d. DPW Report: Patrick McLaughlin stated that $3,000 from MPIDAC account was used toward a new gazebo roof. Cleaning and work on the Lakeside Pavilion has been ongoing during the pandemic. 5. FINANCIAL REPORT The financial report was provided by Patrick McLaughlin. 6. ADJOURNMENT Motion was made to adjourn by Judy Magnano, seconded by Samantha Venturo and voted unanimously by the committee. The meeting adjourned at 6:53 P.M.
