MOHEGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES Thursday, March 11, 2021 Attendance: Beryl Fishbone, Rebecca Melucci, Stacy Gould, Pat McLaughlin Excused: Judy Magnano, Rebecca Melucci (phone carrier issue) 1. CALLED TO ORDER at 6:31 PM by Chairperson Beryl Fishbone 2. CITIZEN COMMENT – No Comments Guest: Eileen Dolan 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. Minutes of regular meeting held on January 14, 2021 Approved with no additions or corrections. Gould/Melucci Unanimous 4. NEW BUSINESS a. Election of MPIDAC Chairperson and MPIDAC Secretary Postponed to May 2021. Gould/Melucci Unanimous. b. No walking or skating on ice signs at pond and lower pond. Discussion followed. No action at this time. 5. OLD BUSINESS a. Reminder: Please re-apply as all volunteer term appointments end 12/31/2020. (Open Position, Beryl Fishbone, Judith Magnano, Rebecca Melucci, Open Position, Samantha Venturo) Stacy mentioned the Council committee will be meeting soon to fill the open positions. b. Disc Golf Update – Kyle submitted a written report “In case I’m not able to make it on the virtual meeting here’s my update for the disc golf course. The holes are set to be dug on Friday of this week and the construction of the kisok will be on Saturday. Following its completion we will all coordinate a date for the grand opening. I’m pleased to report the course is constantly being utilized even through the cold winter months. We can only anticipate an uptick as the weather improves. Excellent job to everyone that made this happen for our park.” Accepted Gould/Melucci Unanimous. Beryl reported there would be no promotional item given at official opening. Pat reported the ground was too frozen to install the front kiosk. After installation opening can be scheduled. c. NPW Report Pat McLaughlin. Otis Library would like to have a once a month childrens story time on the field in June, July and August. Approved Gould/Melucci Unanimous. Pat is waiting to accept group facility reservations. Hoping for after July 4th, 2021. d. Hike & Seek with Department of Recreation – Beryl reported there was no reply to inquiry letter and during discussion was instructed to try again. 6. OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE – Beryl mentioned the National Trail Days June  5th and 6th, 2021. CT Forest & Park Association is asking for less than three minute video postcards of favorite local natural hikes to support self-guided hikers be submitted by May 15, 2021 to https://ctwoodlands.org 7. FINANCIAL REPORT – Accepted as submitted Melucci/Gould Unanimous 8. OTHER BUSINESS 9.
