MOHEGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Thursday, May 13, 2021 – 6:30 P.M. Regular Meeting A virtual meeting to comply with the directive of Executive Order 7B-1 issued by Governor Ned Lamont on March 14, 2020 together with any Executive Orders subsequently issued which pertain to such meetings. MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Beryl Fishbone at 6:30 P.M. Committee members present: Beryl Fishbone, Samantha Venturo, Judy Magnano, Rebecca Melucci, Alderwoman Stacy Gould, and Patrick McLaughlin (Ex-Officio). 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Stacy Gould to accept the minutes of the March 11, 2021 meeting, seconded by Rebecca Melucci and voted unanimously by the committee. 3. NEW BUSINESS a. A motion was made by Stacy Gould to continue the positions of Beryl Fishbone and Judy Magnano as chairwoman and secretary. It was seconded by Rebecca Melucci and voted unanimously by the committee. b. Alderwoman Stacy Gould spoke with Police Chief Daley regarding the issue of ATV use in Mohegan Park. Chief Daley will increase patrols but officers will not engage in pursuit. Anyone witnessing ATV activity is asked to take a photo and report a description to the police. The police will try to find the rider and impose a fine of $50.00 in accordance with statute 14-4. 4. OLD BUSINESS a. Disc Golf Update: The grand opening of the Mohegan Park Disc Golf course was attended by 33 people and the course is getting a great deal of use. Kyle Seitz received a $500 donation and would like to install a practice basket adjacent to the new kiosk. Beryl fishbone made a motion to use $5oo for the installation of the practice basket. It was seconded by Samantha Ventura and voted unanimously by the committee. b. Stacy Gould or Patrick McLaughlin will put Judy Magnano in contact with a drone operator for photos for a brochure update.  c. DPW Report: Patrick McLaughlin said the Group Pavilion will be available for rentals on or after May 22nd. He will evaluate rental of the Lakeside Pavilion based on CDC guidelines. Patrick McLaughlin also said that Otis Library will hold story hours in the field next to the Group Pavilion. 5. FINANCIAL REPORT The financial report was provided by Patrick McLaughlin. 6. ADJOURNMENT Motion was made to adjourn by Rebecca Melucci, seconded by Samantha Venturo and voted unanimously by the committee. The meeting adjourned at 6:51 P.M.
