I. Roll Call
Meeting called to order by Paul Schroder at 6:01 pm.

II. Minutes
A. Minutes of the 07/21/2015 Regular Personnel & Pension Board Meeting.
Motion to amend to "Special" meeting made by Paul Schroder, seconded by John
John, all in favor. Motion to approve the 07/21/2015 Special Personnel & Pension
Board meeting minutes made by John John, seconded by Scott Suplita, all in favor.
III. Old Business
A. Discussion regarding updating of the Disability Verification Form. Motion made at the
June 16, 2015 meeting to review distributed municipal sample forms and submit
potential changes to Brigid Marks for compilation and distribution before the
September meeting.
Board members discussed items to include on the form. Motion to compile and
distribute an updated sample form at the October meeting based on additional board
input made by Paul Schroder, seconded by Scott Suplita, all in favor.
B. Discussion of rollover or withdrawal of pension contributions (plus interest) upon
resignation or termination of employment. Motion made at June 16, 2015 meeting to
contact Corporation Counsel for legal opinion on board approval for the disbursements
after separation to non-vested, non-laid-off participants and table to the September
2015 meeting.
Kevin Emerson has reported that the board does have the authority to establish a
refund policy, but is still researching state escheatment laws. Motion to table to the
October meeting made by Paul Schroder, seconded by John John, all in favor.

3. Carol Pinkston, Labor Relations Clerk, for a deferred retirement effective
08/14/2015 – payable 12/09/2018.
4. Lee Santerre, Senior Building Maintainer, for a normal retirement effective
09/02/2015.
5. Jill Brennan, Executive Assistant, for a deferred retirement effective 09/04/2015 –
payable 09/23/2027.
6. Gloria Lewis, Light Equipment Operator, for a normal retirement effective
01/01/2016.
7. Cynthia Serwinski, Team Leader-NPU, for a normal retirement effective
01/07/2016.
B. Pension calculation(s):
1. Jacqueline Martel, retired 07/12/2015, payable 04/20/2017. Her pension is
calculated for an annual amount of $15,349.09. Her application for a deferred
retirement to be approved at this meeting.
2. Carol Pinkston, retired 08/14/2015, payable 12/09/2018. Her pension is calculated
for an annual amount of $3,187.50. Her application for a deferred retirement to be
approved at this meeting.
C. Notification of death(s):
1. Francis Brennan (DOD 08/16/2015), who retired from the Fire Department on
03/08/1987. Survivor benefit due Deeanne Brennan in the annual amount of
$8,962.57.
2. Peggy McGeowan (DOD 7/11/2015), survivor of James McGeowan who retired from
the Police Department on 9/18/1994. Due to remarriage (8/20/2012), collection of
the amount due to the pension fund has been turned over to Mike Driscoll.
D. Request from Josh Pothier, Comptroller, to extend the eligibility list for the position
of Revenue Collections Clerk for one year.
