Meeting called to order by Paul Schroder at 6:00 pm.

A. Minutes of the July 6, 2016 Special Personnel & Pension Board Meeting.
Motion to approve the July 6, 2016 Special Personnel & Pension Board meeting
minutes made by Scott Suplita, seconded by Peter Barber, all in favor.
III. New Business
A. Applications for retirement:
1. KellyGrey, Custodian-BOE, for a deferred retirement payable July 16, 2019.
2. William Dufault, Heavy Equipment Operator-PW, for a normal retirement effective
July 25, 2016.
3. James Kurasz, Fire Battalion Chief, for a normal retirement effective September 16,
2016.
4. Carlton Clark, Laborer-PW, for a normal retirement effective January 5, 2017.
Motion to approve the above applications for retirement made by Peter Barber,
seconded by Shiela Hayes, all in favor.
B. Pension calculations:
1. Miriam Herring, retired July 1, 2016. Her pension is calculated for $15,397.22
annually. Her application for retirement was approved at the March 2016 meeting.
2. Mary Bartlett, retired July 1, 2016. Her pension is calculated for $34,886.97
annually. Her application for retirement was approved at the January 2016 meeting.
3. Kathryn Eyberse, retired July 1, 2016. Her pension is calculated for $54,551.92
annually. Her application for retirement was approved at the January 2016 meeting.
4. Matthew Hinchey, retired July 1, 2016. His pension is calculated for $42,616.42
annually. His application for retirement was approved at the January 2016 meeting.
5. Louis Fusaro, retired July 6, 2016. His pension is calculated for $85,092.58
annually. His application for retirement was approved at the June 2016 meeting.
6. Nancy Lyon, retired July 6, 2016. His pension is calculated for $22,449.57 annually.
Her application for retirement was approved at the March 2016 meeting.

10. Michael LaLima, retired July 26, 2016. His pension is calculated for $100,521.70
annually. His application for retirement was approved at the April 2016 meeting.
11. Mark Lamphere, retired September 3, 2016. His pension is calculated for $62,919.86
annually. His application for retirement was approved at the April 2016 meeting.
12. Anne Barriere, retired September 6, 2016. Her pension is calculated for $21,138.57
annually. Her application for retirement was approved at the January 2016 meeting
C. Application for refund and/or rollover of pension contributions:
1. Elizabeth Sawyer, Paraeducator-BOE, who terminated June 19, 2015. Refund in the
amount of $2,132.22 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
2. Michelle Falvey, Assistant to the Food Services Director, who terminated on May 12,
2016. Refund in the amount of $58,446.82 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
3. Gerard Carrington, Lineman-NPU, who terminated May 12, 2012. Refund in the
amount of $55,754.45 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
4. Sharyn Mish, Records Computer Operator, who terminated August 5, 2016. Refund
in the amount of $22,089.35 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).

amount of $7,611.21 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
6. Lisa Gardiner, School Nurse-BOE, who terminated July 24, 2015. Refund in the
amount of $6,036.98 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
7. Sheena Despirit, Paraeducator-BOE, who terminated June 30, 2010. Refund in the
amount of $609.19 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
8. Raymond Hulten, COOL Directions Case Manager, who terminated August 25, 2016.
Refund in the amount of $20,142.45 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
9. Diana Nigro, School Nurse-BOE, who terminated August 1, 2016. Refund in the
amount of $7,576.07 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
10. Matthew Martin, Technology Support-BOE, who terminated May 27, 2015. Refund
in the amount of $8,375.40 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
11. Dana Merise, Paraeducator-BOE, who terminated August 31, 2009. Refund in the
amount of $183.12 with interest (thru 07/31/2016).
D. Notifications of death:
1. Katarzyna Wojciechowska (DOD June 13, 2016) who retired from Public Works on
November 16, 1993. No further benefits due.
2. Charles Rossoll Jr (DOD July 23, 2016) who retired from NPU on September 9, 1989
and surviving spouse of Doreen who retired on March 17, 1992 from the BOE. No
further benefits due.
3. Celia Marceau (DOD August 6, 2016) surviving spouse of Elwyn who retired from
the Fire Department on July 8, 1998. No further benefits due.
4. Robert Scolaro (DOD August 13, 2016) who retired from the Fire Department on
June 25, 1994. Survivor benefit due Dolores Scolaro in the amount of $15,131.53
annually.
5. Bertha Jorsz (DOD August 18, 2016) who retired from the City Manager’s Office on
January 9, 1988. No further benefits due.
6. Harold Lamphere (DOD August 19, 2016) who retired from the Fire Department on
June 27, 1989. No further benefits due.
E. Request from Ryan Thompson, Public Works Director, to extend the eligibility list for
Laborer for one year. The current list expires on October 26, 2016.
F. Request from Chief Scandariato, Fire Chief, to extend the eligibility list for Lieutenant
for one year. The current list expires on November 12, 2016.
G. Discussion of interest rates on pension contributions.
