Motion to approve the August 18,2020 meeting minutes made by Shiela Hayes,seconded by Nate Kannas,all in favor. III. New Business A. Investment review with UBS. Marc Shegoski, David Sears and Ashley Martella reviewed the market conditions. The market "unknowns" of COVID-19 appear to be behind us, therefore less volatility is expected. Global monetary and fiscal policy support has helped calm the markets and provide some reUef. Given a central scenario, with a vaccine available in the second quarter of 2021, society should see normal activity by mid-2021 and full economic recovery in 2022. The S&P has reached a new high and UBS is watching the "Zombie" companies. 1. Edgardo Rodriguez,Custodian-BOE,for a deferred retirement effective July 18,2020. 2. James Laudone, Utility Meter reader-NPU,for a normal retirement effective August 15, 2020. 3. Mihoko Christian, Paraeducator-BOE, for a normal retirement effective September 12, 2020. 4. Christopher Conley,Police Lieutenant,for a normal retirement effective October 24,2020. 5. Maryann Stradczuk, Control Room Operator-NPU, for a normal retirement effective January 9,2021. 6. B. Pension Calculations: 1. Thomas Courey,retired July 8,2020. His annual pension is calculated for $34,403.62. His application was approved at the August 2020 meeting. 2. Edgardo Rodriguez,retired July 18,2020. His annual pension is calculated for $12,731.79, payable August 17,2031. His application is on the agenda at this meeting for approval. 3. Lee Arm Myers,retired August 5,2020. Her aimual pension is calculated for $21,614.94. Her application was approved at the August 2020 meeting. 4. Staci Ballaro, retired August 15,2020. Her annual pension is calculated for $18,725.89, payable January 5,2034. Her application was approved at the August 2020 meeting. 5. James Laudone,retired August 15,2020. His aimual pension is calculated for $57,509.28. His application is on the agenda at this meeting for approval. 6. Fawn Walker, who retired August 17,2020. Her aimual pension is calculated for $30,067.06. Her application was approved at the August 2020 meeting. Motion to approve the pension calculations made by Shiela Hayes,seconded by Nate Kannas,all in favor. C. Application for refimd/rollover of pension contributions: 1. Benjamin Sawarjm,Police Officer, who terminated effective August 21,2020. Refimd of $26,891.45 including interest. Motion to accept the refund/rollover calculations made by Shiela Hayes,seconded by Nate Kannas, all in favor. D. Notification of Death: 1. Lillian Gardner,DOD August 23,2020,surviving spouse of Douglas Gardner who retired from NPU on January 7,2012. No further benefit due. 2 Lucy Davis,DOD September 2,2020,surviving spouse of Leo Davis who retired from the Fire Department on May 2,1985. No further benefit due. G. Sandy Pimentel provided an update on the 2019 service-connected disability outside earnings review. Although the request for the 2019 outside earnings was mailed in April 2020, the tax filing date was extended to July 15,2020. It has been reported by recipients the IRS is backlogged. To date, we have only received one transcript. Because of the revised filing date for 2019, the review and report to the Board will be delayed this year. Motion to extend the 2019 service-cormected disability outside earnings review date imtil the November 2020 meeting made by Shiela Hayes,seconded by Paul Schroder, all in favor. IV. Correspondence Rob Dempsky's term expired on March 1, 2020. Shiela Hayes made a motion to send a letter to Rob Dempsky advising him he has missed more than three consecutive meetings per the City Charter, Chapter XVIII,Section 12,seconded by Paul Schroder, all in favor.
