Sandra Pimentel,P&P Secretary II. Minutes A. Minutes of the February 16,2021 Personnel & Pension Board Meeting. Motion to approve the February 16, 2021 minutes made by Shiela Hayes, seconded by Nate Kannas,all in favor. III. Old Business A. Annual Pension Plans Comparison Review was accepted at the February 2021 meeting. UBS will review with the Board at a future date. B. Update on special election for an employee representative. Sandy Pimentel reported the request for nominations will be sent out this week and the virtual special election is being planned for the first week in April. IV. New Business A. Applications for Retirement: 1. Kevin Wilbur,Police Detective,for a normal retirement effective March 14,2021. 2. Jean Mares,Police Records Clerk,for a normal retirement effective May 2,2021. 3. Sandra Pimentel,Retirement Plan Administrator,for a normal retirement effective May 2, 2021. 4. Jeffrey Lortie,Control Room Foremen-NPU,for a normal retirement effective June 4,2021. Motion to approve the retirement applications made by Shiela Hayes,seconded by Nate Kannas,all in favor. B. Pension Calculations: 1. Barbara Richards retired January 7,2021. Her annual pension calculation is $15,783.06. Her application was approved at the January 2021 meeting. 2. Renee D'Elia retired January 9,2021. Her annual pension calculation is $9,468.04. Sharlene Cedrone retired January 16, 2021. Her annual pension calculation is $17,702.20, payable December 26,2023. Her application was approved at the January 2021 meeting. 4. Stephen Lee retired February 2, 2021. His annual pension calculation is 109,516.12. His application was approved at the August 2020 meeting with a January 31,2021 retirement date,then revised to February 2,2021. 5. Andre Rosedale retired February 11,2021. His annual pension calculation is $61,835.45 His application was approved at the May 2020 meeting. Motion to approve the pension calculations made by Shiela Hayes,seconded by Nate Kannas,all in favor. Kendrick Amy,Paraeducator-BOE, who terminated effective September 1,2020. Refund of $6,887.84 including interest. 2. Bethany Corbin,Paraeducator-BOE, who terminated effective November 24,2020. Refund of $4,483.54 including interest. 3. Natalie, Rashleigh, Administrative Assistant-BOE, who terminated effective November 24, 2020. Refund of $3,711.17 including interest. 4. Edward Gookin,Police Officer, who terminated effective February 27,2021. Refund of 25,017.58 including interest. Motion to approve the refund calculations made by Shiela Hayes,seconded by Nate Kannas,all in favor. D. Notifications of Death: 1. Joseph Straub, DOD January 28,2021, who retired from Public Works on June 20,1978. No further benefit due. 2. Irene Michon,DOD February 20, 2021, surviving spouse of Isidore Michon who retired from the BOE on April 7,2001. No further benefit due. 3. Joseph Galipeau,DOD February 21,2021, who retired from the Police Department on March 1,1988. No further benefit due. Motion to acknowledge the notifications of death made by Shiela Hayes,seconded by Nate Kannas,all in favor. E. Discussion of pension contribution choices upon termination for vested participants. The Board previously voted to process refunds to all terminated non-vested pension participants within 90 days of notice. The decision was based on the legal research provided by Mike DriscoU. Currently, there are twelve vested employees who left employ from 2010-2020 who have not made the election to receive a refund or apply for a deferred retirement. Because these former participants are also eligible to receive a deferred pension,a motion was made by Paul Schroder to request an opinion from Mike Driscoll,seconded by Shiela Hayes,all in favor. F.
