Motion to accept March 19, 2024 minutes made by Mike Dziavit, seconded by Kenneth Scandariato, all in favor. III. New Business A. City Council appointment of Kenneth Scandariato – Regular Member and Mary Osten – Alternate Member to P&P Board. Paul Schroder acknowledged and welcome new appointed P&P Board members. B. P&P Board Employee Representative Election Results Motion made by Paul Schroder to acknowledge the P&P Board Employee Representative Election Results, seconded by Kenneth Scandariato, all in favor. Paul Schroder made a motion to add an item to agenda under suspension of rules, C to section III New Business, seconded by Mike Dziavit, all in favor. C. UBS Investment Review Mark Shegoski, David Sears and Ashley Martella from UBS Financial Services, Inc. provided a brief overview on the Pension Obligation Bond and current rates of return. UBS asked the P&P Board members for approval on their plan to input (invest). UBS recommended the following: 1. Invest $3,151,110 million from the POB proceeds and release $460,000 to City to finance pension benefits as planned, for a total of $3,611,100. Motion to approve investment of $3,151,110 million and release $460,000 to City was made by Mike Dziavit, seconded by Bob Pounch, all in favor. D. (Formerly C.) Applications for retirement: 1. Edna Kuzia, Assistant to Treasurer, for a normal retirement effective July 5, 2024. Revised retirement date. 2. D. (Formerly D.) Pension Calculations: 1. Glenn Watts, Fire Lieutenant, retired March 17, 2024. His annual pension calculation is $ 55,846.48. His application was approved at the January 16, 2024 meeting. Motion to approve the pension calculation made by Mike Dziavit, seconded by Kenneth Scandariato, all in favor. E. (Formerly F.) Applications for refund/rollover of pension contributions: 1. Sara Christy, Student Service Specialist – BOE, who terminated effective January 11, 2024. Rollover of $ 2,947.61 including interest. 2. Mark Gaudette, Utility Electrical Engineer – NPU, who terminated effective November 23, 2022. Rollover of $ 57,323.57 including interest. Employee withdrew his application for a deferred pension. 3. Sara Hill, Fam. & Comm. Volunteer Coordinator - BOE, who terminated effective December 22, 2023. Refund of $ 11,179.44 including interest. 4. Jennifer Morris, Records Clerk, who terminated effective January 19, 2024. Refund of $ 639.63 including interest. Motion to approve refund/rollover applications made by Kenneth Scandariato, seconded by Mike Dziavit, all in favor. F. (Formerly F.) Employees to be admitted into the City of Norwich Employees’ Retirement Fund: Motion to admit the following employees into the City of Norwich Employee’s Retirement Fund made by Mike Dziavit, seconded by Kenneth Scandariato, all in favor.
