Motion to accept the September 17, 2024 minutes was made by Kenneth Scandariato, seconded by Mike Dziavit, all in favor. III. New Business A. Milliman’s July 01, 2024 Pension Valuation results review Rebecca Sielman from Milliman provided an overview of the July 1, 2024 City of Norwich Retirement Valuation. She recommended there be no change to the 6.25% assumed rate of return. Details can be found in the City of Norwich Retirement Actuarial Valuation dated July 1, 2024. https://www.norwichct.org/Archive.aspx?ADID=1416. Paul Schroder made a motion to add to the agenda under suspension of rules, item B Custodian and Trustee selection process, seconded by Bob Pounch, all in favor. B. Custodian and Trustee selection process Motion made by Paul Schroder to adhere to the same procedure in selecting Custodian and Trustee, seconded by Bob Pounch, all in favor. C. (formerly B.) Application for retirement: 1. Steven Deloreto, Police Officer, for a normal retirement effective October 24, 2024. 2. Joel Grispino, Police Officer, for a normal retirement effective December 28, 2024. Motin to approve retirement applications made by Bob Pounch, seconded by Chris Golas, all in favor. D. (formerly C.) Pension Calculations: 1. Ruth Swift, Customer Service Center Manager, retired August 24, 2024. Her annual pension calculation is $ 94,711.57. Her application was approved at the March 19, 2024 meeting. (formerly D.) Applications for refund/rollover of pension contributions: 1. Benjamin Jack, Board Cert. Behavior Analyst – BOE, who terminated effective June 21, 2024. Rollover in the amount of $ 17,134.48 including interest. 2. Ryan Landry, Police Officer, who terminated effective August 9, 2024. Rollover in the amount of $ 90,147.67 including interest. 3. Kelly Carvalho, Board Cert. Behavior Analyst – BOE, who terminated June 21, 2024. Rollover in the amount of $ 13,310.26 including interest. Motion to approve refund/rollover applications made by Bob Pounch, seconded by Chris Golas, all in favor. F. (formerly E.) Notification of Death: 1. Richard C. Benoit, DOD October 1, 2024, BOE, who retired on September 29, 2007. No further benefit due. Motion to acknowledge notification of death made by Bob Pounch, seconded by Chris Golas, all in favor. G. (formerly F.) Eligibility List Extensions: 1. Request from Christopher LaRose, NPU General Manager, to extend the Apprentice Maintenance Mechanic – GAS eligibility list for one (1) year. The list expires December 08, 2024. Motion to extend the Apprentice Maintenance Mechanic – GAS eligibility list for six (6) months was made by Chris Golas, seconded by Mary Osten, all in favor. 2. Request from Christopher LaRose, NPU General Manager, to extend the Lineworker Apprentice eligibility list for one (1) year. The list expires November 15, 2024. Motion to extend the Lineworker Apprentice eligibility list for six (6) months was made by Chris Golas, seconded by Mary Osten, all in favor. 3. Request from Joshua Pothier, City Comptroller, to extend the Revenue Collection Clerk – Bilingual eligibility list for one (1) year. The list expires November 15, 2024.
