what it would take to have Norwich become a Regional Dispatch Center. It would make Norwich eligible for
State and Federal funds that are available to Regional Dispatch Centers.

Alderman William Nash requests that all departments submit a review of their work during the storms,

VI. Old Business
a. ATV operation in the Dunham and Albert Street area. Update from Lieutenant Pat Daley.
Lieutenant Pat Daley states that he spoke with the responsible party (the offenders) and there have been no
further complaints. It would appear they understood and have ceased their ATV riding on that property.
b. Truck Traffic on Lower Blissville Road. Update from Lieutenant Pat Daley.
Lieutenant Pat Daley states that he spoke with Bob’s Store about their CO for the property as it pertains to
Blissville Road. Bob’s is looking into ways to eliminate the problem. Lieutenant Daley will check in to see
how Bob’s is dealing with the truck traffic and continue to monitor the situation.
VII. Other
a. Any other business appropriate to come before the committee
Yantic Chief Frank Blanchard informs the Committee and any other interested parties that there will be a
Water Supply Drill in Yantic on Upper Scotland Road (by 395) on June 6 at 7:30 am and will last for about 3 –
4 hours. Lieutenant Murray is spearheading the operation.
b. Yantic Chief Frank Blanchard also informs the Committee that there was a failure of the 33-66 radio system
at around 2 pm on May 11. Norwich Dispatchers overcame the system interruption and firefighters responded
to the Firehouse sirens (which is the backup to the radio service). The Radio System was repaired by the time
the call was cleared.
Lieutenant Pat Daley explains that the Firehouse Sirens are the backup system to dispatch as there are 2
systems required.
c. A request to the DOT was made for the addition of a cut-through on Rte 395. A letter was sent but there has
been no response. Alderman William Nash requests a copy of the letter so another attempt can be made.
d. Alderman H Tucker Braddock Jr. asks if the National Guard needs to be notified of the delays that occurred
during the flooding. Chief Fusaro believes it may be a good idea. Lieutenant Daley notes that the
requirements for assistance from the National Guard are very specific.
VIII. Adjournment
Alderman H Tucker Braddock Jr. motions to adjourn at 7:57 p.m. Alderman William Nash seconds the
motion and it passes unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
