Call to Order – Quorum Alderman William Nash called the meeting to order at 7:14 p.m. It was determined a quorum is present. II. Approval of Minutes Alderman H Tucker Braddock Jr. motions to approve the August 11, 2010 Public Safety Meeting Minutes. Motion was seconded by Alderman William Nash. All in favor, the motion passed. III. Correspondence Alderman William Nash asks if there is any correspondence. There is none. IV. Citizen Comment Alderman William Nash asks if there are any citizens wishing to comment. a. Steven Case of the Knights of Columbus (next to Memorial Park) wishes to discuss the idea of putting up a fence to decrease the use of the property as a cut through / thoroughfare. They would like permission from the City to put up a fence that would envelop the neighboring City property as well. They would also like to share the costs as well. City Manager Alan Bergren says he will talk to Barry Ellison and get back to Steve. Public Safety Meeting August 11, 2010 Page 2 Roland Lambert of Baltic Road tells the board that there has been no police activity on Baltic Road and that the traffic is very dangerous and needs cruiser coverage. Drivers are going too fast and passing even though it is a no passing zone. He would like to see police coverage of Baltic Road to ensure public safety. V. New Business There is no new business to discuss. VI. Old Business a. Update on the SWOT report from the flood Alderman William Nash requests the SWOT reports from each department. The Chiefs state they are still working on the reports and that they will be ready for the October meeting. b. Vergason Avenue Gate Chief Blanchard says that it is still developing and will continue working on it. VII. Other Alderman William Nash asks if there are any other items to be brought before the board. No other business. VIII. Adjournment Alderman H Tucker Braddock Jr. motions to adjourn at 7:27 pm.
