CITY OF NORWICH DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS June 18, 2018 TO: City Clerk FROM: Director of Public Works FILE #: PWD 097-18 SUBJECT: MINUTES OF PUBLIC WORKS & CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE APPROVED The regular meeting of the Public Works and Capital Improvements Committee was held on Monday, June 18, 2018 in the conference room at the Public Works Headquarters, 50 Clinton Avenue. Attendance was as follows: Committee Members Administration Alderwoman Stacy Gould Ryan E. Thompson, Director Public Works Mayor Peter Nystrom Patrick J. McLaughlin, City Engineer 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 8:05 a.m. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Meeting minutes of the May 21, 2018 were unanimously approved. (Motion: Nystrom, Second: Gould). 3. CITIZEN COMMENT: None 4. OLD BUSINESS: A. Plaques and Monuments There was also a brief discussion about a proposed bench with an engraving on it to be placed in Mohegan Park. This will first be going to the Plaques and Monuments Committee. B. Public Works Projects Updates Update by Pat McLaughlin regarding various projects.  Pleasant Street Bridge is closed as of June 18. The closure will last approximately, 12 weeks. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.  The Vehicle Wash Building has also started, and will be complete by mid- October.  ADA Ramp project awarded to Clover Construction, is completed with 18 ramps being replaced. Clover Construction is also working on the Franklin Street sidewalks which will be completed by June 22.
