COMMITTEE
A special meeting of the Public Works and Capital Improvements Committee was held on
Monday, August 26, 2019 in the conference room at the Public Works Headquarters, 50 Clinton
Avenue. Attendance was as follows:

1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Meeting minutes of the July 15, 2019 meeting were unanimously approved.
(Motion: Nystrom, Second: Browning)
3. CITIZEN COMMENT: None
4. OLD BUSINESS:
A. Property Disposition
48 Hinckley Street and 87 5th Street: unanimous vote to list these properties for sale.
(Motion: Nystrom, Second: Browning)
8 Garfield Ave: Alderman Browning suggested demolition. Recommendation to list
property for sale passed 2 - 1 (Motion: Nystrom, Second: Gould).
253 Broad Street - City planner, Deanna Rhodes, inquired about the status and
Alderwoman Gould will confirm with realtor that it is listed for sale.
36 Huntington Ave – Nystrom motioned to bring to Dangerous Buildings Board of
Review for their consideration for disposition, Browning seconded and all in favor.
212 Prospect – moving forward with the clean out and NPU is responsible for the
cost.
Deanna Rhodes mentioned the Martin Luther King building and the YMCA will be
discussed in the next round of properties.
