Rec Advisory Board November 28, 2018 Present: Jeff Blinderman, Cheryl Hancin, Lee-Ann Gomes, Stephanie Burnham, Ray Stewart, Julie Cagle No minutes as no quorum last meeting Old Business • Fall programs…See Fall Brochure that was sent to 10,000 residents. The Rec offered 41 programs this fall; 24 for youth, 17 adult, 374 enrollees all together. We had more success with youth (only 5 youth programs cancelled while out of the 17 programs offered for adults 7 were cancelled). We will keep trying some programs that didn’t run. • Trunk or Treat….well attended…..DJ was great…Howard Brown Park… • Road races…Lornadelli, NFA helps out.. Running numbers are down… • One more date of adult softball before league ends • Still advertising for basketball league…need coaches. Sent to all the schools New Business • Facilities….winterized fields, shut off fountains, working on fall clean up, seeding and fertilizing, Rec playground done...grand opening in April…cutting brush…snow ready… • City Council Presentation…..Info session 12-3-18 to Council…see handout of slides… • Julie requests that we bring back woman’s volleyball league…sand volleyball very popular now • Bubbles to Butterfly…. Cheryl will try to partner with her for lifeguarding, seniors therapeutic programs, etc Winter Programs…See new brochure and slides in Council Presentation for new ideas Other Business Meeting adjourned at 8:05pm
