Rehabilitation Review Committee

CITY OF NORWICH REHAB REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING August 8, 2018 - 9:00 a.m. Present: Rodney Bowie, H. Tucker Braddock, Jim Roberts, Kathryn Crees, Wayne Sharkey (staff) Absent: Jim Troeger I. The meeting of the Rehab Review Committee (RRC) was called to order at 9:10 a.m. by Rodney Bowie. II. Approval of Minutes – no minutes were presented III. Review of Policies and Procedures – amendments. The discussion for potential amendment was held regarding the back-taxes due policy and the practice of allowing applicants who were on payment plans receive funding. Staff suggested that applicants be allowed to receive funding after having been on a payment plan for a “period of time (6 mos. to a year)”. The committee wanted more information on this and requested Kathy provide them with additional information at the next meeting. IV. Project Status Update – Wayne Sharkey presented an update (see attached). The update provided an overview of the status of the Property Rehabilitation Program and the Lead Hazard Control Program. The committee would like to see a more concise report in the future. Wayne will provide this for the next meeting. Tucker asked how the program(s) were marketed. Wayne explained that most of the marketing is done through community outreach activities. These activities include community events, Library, Schools, Health District and others. V. Other – Discussion and consensus was reached to change RRC meetings to the second Tuesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. VI. Adjournment – Motion was made by Jim Roberts and seconded by Tucker Braddock to adjourn the RRC meeting at 10:30 a.m. Motion carried unanimously. Respectfully Submitted Kathryn M.
