Rose City Senior Center Senior Affairs Commission Meeting of April 15, 2019 Present: Jackie Randall, Jan Stewart, Frank Jacaruso, Rebecca Melucci, Michael Lahan, Lauriann Messore, Lee-Ann Gomes Excused: Mike Wolak, Jackie introduced Rebecca, new member. Has lived in Norwich for 5 years, she is coordinating the docent program, part of the Ellis Ruley quilt project, tries to stay active in the community, retired from the medical field at Yale New Haven Hospital Approval of the minutes of November 19th. Motion to accept passed. Communications…see handout from Mike Wolak. Many letters sent to express their gratitude for the services provided by the Center. Human Services Director report….Lee spoke about the budget. The RSCS asked for a receptionist, a new escort car and a structure to protect the vehicles. Director of the Senior Center report….Volunteer appreciation breakfast on May 2, 2019 at 9:15. Chairperson report…. Jackie volunteered to man a RCSC booth at summer outings. Lee to get Suki’s (from Global Cities) contact info to Jackie. Lee spoke briefly about the Medicare Savings Program legislation. Old Business…Jackie is requesting follow up information on the Fox Rehab Program, who presented at the November meeting New Business…The RCSC will not have a yard sale this year. They are researching other fundraising events. The trips are going very well. Mike and Lee to see about expanding the rental policy to groups who are not non-profits. .
