Rose City Senior Center Senior Affairs Commission Meeting of March 21, 2022 Present Members: Frank Jacaruso, Rebecca Melucci, & Lauriann Messore, Present staff: Tara Booker and Mike Wolak Excused: Michael Lahan Meeting called to order by Frank Jacaruso as there was a quorum. Approval of the minutes –No minutes to approve from November since there was no a meeting. Communications…Mike shared a note from CSEA retirees, AFSCME union local 2422 and from Rosemarie Desjarlais, a member of the center. Human Services Director report….Tara was introduced upon entry of our SAC members. Tara told the members a little about herself, her background and how she ended up as the Director of Norwich Human Services. Director of the Senior Center report: 1. Have begun additional transportation for in-town medical-extra driver M, W, F 8am-2pm with ARPA funds 2. Started MH Counseling Services 10 hours per week, by appointment with Kerri and Angelo a. Art Therapy 6 week classes too 3. Funding for our garage was once again not included in the budget-very disappointed 4. Medical clinic and Transportation are still requiring wearing of masks due to Federal mandate for these 2 areas 5. Recently 6 of the 7 full time staff and 3 per diem drivers all got certified or re-certified for Adult CPR/AED thru American Group 6. Received almost $2,000 in donations in the name of Jan Stewart 7. Received various monetary donations from seniors, sunrise rotary group, AFSCME union, Marie’s treasures, CSEA state retirees 8. Received $9,000 from Lord Foundation for RN’s and supplies in our health clinic Chairperson report….
