Rose City Senior Center Senior Affairs Commission Meeting of March 20, 2023 Present Members: Frank Jacaruso, Rebecca Melucci, Lauriann Messore Present staff: Kate Milde and Mike Wolak Absent Joanne Philbrick Frank Jacaruso called meeting to order, as there was a quorum. Approval of the minutes –Minutes from November 21, 2023 meeting were approved Communications…  Finally received a formal resignation from Michael Lahan  Rotary $250 donation  CSEA $500 donation  Quilters sale‐over $300 donated  6pm tonight‐Dedication of sign and plaque for Jan Stewart Human Services Director report…. Kate was present prior to a quorum being met. She gave an update on a CDBG we have submitted in collaboration with Hartford Healthcare to provide a Community Health Nurse at the Sr. Center on the days we currently do not have medical services. We hope to hear in April if we are awarded the funding. Director of the Senior Center report:  Clinic Grant‐applying again to have a Podiatrist  Benefits Counselor Grant‐applying again for our Benefits Counselor  Pickle ball funding secured and RFP going out this week Chairperson report…. NONE but Mike brought up that the State allocation for direct funding to senior centers for RCSC is just under $100,000. More information set to be released soon. Old Business… None New Business…Laurieann informed the group that if we know anyone looking for household items to contact her. She purchases storage units and generally has items to sell/donate.
