Jaime. The minutes was unanimously approved.
Report from By-Law Review Committee
Recommendations for change from the by-law review committee include two major items:
Removing the requirement for a representative from DCF and Adult Probation.
Neither are required by either State or City statute or ordinance and would streamline
attendance.
Changing the number of meetings from 6 (every other month) to 10 (November
through June). Monthly meeting will begin in November. The vote on Bylaw changes
was unanimous.
Review of “Code of Ethics”
The review was postponed until next meeting.
Program Review
Kay reviewed all relevant ongoing programs, including SYEP and Summer Jam. Help Me
Grow begins its push the month in an effort to increase early development awareness.
Norwich Prevention Council
The new grant will be due at the end of October. Members having priorities or new
ideas should contact Kay as soon as possible.
Jodi at NFA has dissolved the NFA SADD chapter and is forming a Youth Prevention
Council to work in a more coordinated effort with the NPC.
Norwich youth survey data is beginning to be compiled and will be released soon.
Alcohol Compliance checks were finally accomplished in July by the Norwich Police
Department. There is opportunity and interest in continuing this type of prevention
work in the city.
