MINUTES City of Norwich, Parks Commission June 24, 2026 Present: Comm. K. Thompson, Comm. S. Lambert, Comm. M. Kirsch, Comm. B. McCraken, Comm. D. Phelps, Alderwoman N. Allaire Absent: Chairperson C. Sprague, Comm. T. French, Also Present: A. Testani, D. Thompson Correspondence: Broome Developmental Center submitted a facility request form for June 22nd through June 26 from 8:30 to 3:30 PM for a Camp Summer Fun. They requested use of the electrical outlet. Meeting Minutes: Comm Lambert made a motion to accept May’s meeting minutes, seconded by M. Kirsch. All approved the motion. Old Business: Broome Developmental Center’s facility request prompted a discussion on where we stand with the new Facilities Reservation form. The update was tabled at the last Council meeting. Alderwoman Allaire will bring to discuss at the next working session. A. Testani will provide her with information on what other towns and villages are currently charging. No update on the MPR Grant for Bruchhausen Park. NYS was to announce funding as early as May. No announcement has been made yet. A. Testani will reach out to our representative for the grant for an update. Weiler Park grant has been submitted. Announcements are to be made sometime in the fall. The granite for the fountain head at Gordon Park has been ordered but shipping has been delayed to the vendor. The poison ivy at Gordon Park has been treated once. A second spraying will happen in the next few weeks. No updated on the lights at the skate rink / pickleball courts. New Business: Kurt Beyer Pool opened on Tuesday, June 22 nd. A suggestion was made about renting a portal bathroom facility due to the condition of those at the pool. The playground equipment for Auburn Park is back ordered. Delivery is not expected until September. Chairman’s Report: No update. Commissioner’s Reports: S. Lambert noted graffiti on the playground equipment at Bruchhausen. Budget: June YTD actuals were presented. Next meeting: September 22nd at 7:00 PM in the city offices. Adjournment: B McCraken made a motion to adjourn at 8:00 PM, seconded by S. Lambert.
