Regular Meeting February 17, 2021 Architectural Review Board Via Zoom Present: Maren Robertson Chairperson Laurie Steinhorst Member Scott O’Neill Member Greg Healey Member Lisa Buckley Alternate Member voting for Member Holley Donald Yacopino Chief Building Inspector Absent: Toma Holley Member Call to order: 7:05 pm 1. 298 Main Street. Foley Signs for Black Parakeetz Application for parallel sign on N. Highland Ave façade and east façade facing parking lot Building Inspector Review: Proposed parallel sign on east façade complies with size regulations, however an area variance is required from Article IV, VON §360-4.11E for a sign not on the front façade (facing the street). Proposed sign on N. Highland Ave complies with zoning regulations. Board Review Based Upon: 1. The application. 2. Building Inspector review 3. Testimony of applicant Naomi, and applicant’s representative Robin of Foley Signs 4. ARB member’s knowledge of the site 5. Site visits by members 6. No testimony from the public Board Findings Conclusion: 1. Having no comment by the public, the public hearing is closed on a motion by Member Robertson, seconded by Member Buckley, approved by a vote of 4-0. 2. Motion by Member Buckley to approve the application with the stipulation that sign on east façade will align with windows below. Seconded by Member O’Neill, approved by a vote of 4-0. Thomas Lipuma for Mekong District Application to replace sign in existing, non-functioning light box. Building Inspector Review: Signage complies with zoning requirements. Board Review Based Upon: 1. The application. 2. Building Inspector review 3. Testimony of applicant’s representative, Keith Piscatelli of Hudson Valley Signs. 4. ARB member’s knowledge of the site 5. Site visits by members 6. No testimony from the public Board Findings Conclusion: 1. Having no comment by the public, the public hearing is closed on a motion by Member Robertson, seconded by Member Buckley, approved by a vote of 5-0. 2. Motion by Member O’Neill to approve the application as presented. Seconded by Member Robertson, approved by a vote of 5-0. 3. 173 Main Street. John Gisondi for Nyack Grill Application to cover west facing deck with a fabric awning. Building Inspector Review: Proposal complies with zoning requirements. Fire Safety issues must be addressed with the Fire Inspector. Board Review Based Upon: 1. The application. 2. Building Inspector review 3. No testimony from the public Board Findings Conclusion: 1. Having no comment by the public, the public hearing is closed on a motion by Member Robertson, seconded by Member Buckley, approved by a vote of 5-0. 2. Motion by Member Steinhorst to approve the application as presented with the stipulation that the awning will get dropped 4” to 5” down from the windows on the second floor. Applicant agrees.
