Call to Order Judy Wagner called the meeting to order. Members in attendance were Judy, Nancy Diamond, Rosemary Morrison and Kristina Mayhew. Alexa Ochoa was excused. City staff members in attendance were Don Crawford, Cac Kamak and Gideon Cauffman. 2. Approval of Minutes MOTION: Moved by Nancy Diamond, seconded by Kristina Mayhew, the Park Board unanimously approved the minutes from the January 10, 2022 meeting. 3. Public Comments No public comments. 4. Unfinished Business a. b. c. d. 5. New Business a. SEEK Grant This item was tabled until the March Park Board meeting. b. Alternate Student Park Board Member Nancy Diamond gave a brief presentation to the Park Board proposing filling the alternate Park Board vacancy with an Oak Harbor High School student. This would allow a unique perspective to the board, provide students with additional civics experience as well as offer students a project required to graduate. She explained the parameters, commitments and responsibilities of the alternate member, including possibly changing the meeting time of the Park Board. This member would serve a one year term, beginning June of each year and ending the following May. Discussion was held regarding the voting capacity of a student on an advisory board. PARK BOARD MINUTES Monday, February 14, 2022 Page 2 Ex Officio member Woessner agreed with the diversification of the board members and is fully supportive of the proposal. MOTION: Moved by Kristina Mayhew, seconded by Rosemary Morrison, the Park Board unanimously approved to recommend to City Council to allow for the alternate member of the board to be filled by an Oak Harbor High School student. 6.
