Downtown Ocala CRA grants CRA22-45010 - 112 S Magnolia Ave, Engeland Voelkers Ocala Attachments: CRA22-45010 Grant Application packet CRA Manager Gus Gianikas reviewed grant application CRA22 45010. The project involves complete rebuild of facade. The applicant previously applied for an interior grant last fiscal year. The project cost amounts to $54,000, and the grant request is eligible for the 50% maximum grant ($25,000). The Grant Review Committee, which includes Committee Member Summer Gill, made a site visit to meet with the applicant on October 17th. Ms. Gill noted the display windows will have televisions showcasing real estate properties, and the applicant will perform repairs on the brick columns to keep them intact. Mr. Gianikas noted the awnings will be retractable. Downtown Ocala CRA projects & budget updates Downtown Ocala CRA grant budget Attachments: Downtown Ocala CRA grant budget Mr. Gianikas reviewed the grant budget with the Board. The budget for FY23 was adopted on October 1, 2022 and included $100,000 for grants. Staff will be presenting a new grant program in December, for large projects (estimated launch date February 2023). He provided a brief overview of the fiscal year 2023 budget summary. The City will follow-up with the Board regarding the $150,000 funding allocation. He confirmed the Hotel Marion project is eligible for grant funding with Member Baillie. Furthermore, the Downtown retail study will be presented at the next meeting. Ms. Baillie requested an update regarding the Big Lee’s project. Mr. Gianikas explained how the Big Lee’s project was not included in the developer's agreement. 6. Other business Mr. Gianikas discussed the redistricting workshop timeline. The next workshop is scheduled on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Community Outreach Manager Rachel Fautsch reported the community meeting is scheduled on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 6 pm; location Martin Luther King (MLK) First Responders Campus, and the Council workshop is scheduled on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She provided a brief overview of the redistricting map options. The redistricting process involves the evaluation of population growth. Mr. Gianikas said the Committee will receive an email regarding the date for the December meeting. Mr. Reichel announced he is moving to Sarasota as of January 1, 2023. Mr. Gianikas commented the Election of Officers can occur in February or March 2023, depending on when members are re-appointed and new committee members are appointed. 7.
