Proof of Publication The public notice for the Downtown Ocala CRA Advisory Committee meeting was posted on November 22, 2022. 3. Approval of October 25, 2022 minutes There being no further discussion the motion carried by roll call vote. Downtown Ocala CRA projects & budget update Mr. Gianikas reviewed the budget spreadsheet for fiscal year 2023. He provided a brief overview of the budget allocations and grant funding. The Committee approved 60 grants, totaling $1,197,765. He provided an update on the Osceola Trak and the Downtown streetscape project. The streetscape will extend down 5th Street to 2nd Street. Mr. Reichel asked why the streetscape project will stop on 2nd Street. Mr. Gianikas responded the plan is to monitor the changes in the streetscape and circulation before extending the project. Mr. Reichel noted the stoplight on SE 3rd Street & SW 1st Avenue is under observation for removal. Mr. Gianikas mentioned that SW Broadway Street is next for streetscaping. The streetscaping will start on SW 1st Avenue and extend to SW 3rd Street to accommodate the redevelopment project at SW 1st Avenue and the new parking garage at SW 3rd Avenue. He showed maps of the streetscape project plans; discussed future capital projects; and explained the proposed parking garage concept. Ms.Murdaugh asked if the City will be hosting a Downtown tour. Mr. Gianikas responded a tour can be scheduled at anytime for this Committee. Mr. Gianikas explained the proposed restaurant/retail project for the Hilton. Ms. Murdaugh requested an update regarding the movie theater. Mr. Gianikas responded he does not have an update at this time. Mr. Gianikas commented the new budget for fiscal year 2023 will support current projects. 5. Downtown Ocala CRA grants Mr. Gianikas provided a brief overview of the framework for the Downtown CRA's proposed grant for new construction. Applicants may be able to receive rebates and waive development permitting fees. The amount of grant/financial assistance will be limited to a certain percentage of the project cost, with a payback period of 7-years. City staff will present the framework for the new construction grant program at the next meeting. 6. Other Business Mr. Reichel stated today is his last meeting with the Downtown Ocala CRA committee. Ms. Murdaugh and Mr. Gianikas thanked him for his service. 7. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 10:24 am. Page 2 of 2
