A Risk Mitigation Grant has been awarded to Ocean Shores in the amount of $5,934.00 for Dolphin AvenueTraffic Calming Signage. The conditions of the grant are stated in the Risk Reduction Grant Guidelines and further set forth below. Conditions: 1. Grant funds must be used in accordance with the project as described in the risk mitigation grant application. 2. WCIA staff will reach out to the grantee via e-mail and ask for a status report by May 19, 2023. Grantee will need to provide an update at that time regarding the status of the project. 3. Grantee must provide a second written status report via e-mail to WCIA by September 22, 2023 describing the status of the project including a timeline for anticipated completion. 4. If at any time the Grantee decides to not move forward with the funded project, they are to contact WCIA as soon as possible so that the funds may be redirected and awarded to an alternate project. 5. All projects must be completed, installed, and/or purchased by December 5, 2023. After lots of research and price comparison I was able to request and purchase two Evolis Speed Signs for our small city and installed them in two areas where I was getting the most speeding complaints. After 60 days of being deployed I am very happy to report that I have not received one complaint from these areas in regards to speeding. I was able to program the signs to display warning messages in alternating colors and could not be happier with the results. A public comment period has remained open for two consecutive weeks, beginning on March 28 and ending April 10, 2023. The Ocean Shores Golf Course lessee has announced retirement. The City of Ocean Shores assigned a reviewal committee to score the written submittals from the respondents. After the proposals were reviewed and scored the reviewal committee requested to interview each respondent on March 17, 2023. The City Council reviewed this information during at a study session to be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023. This Study Session afforded the city council time to discuss options and financial requirements with the reviewal committee.
