This constitutes a meeting of the Common Council pursuant to State ex rel. Badke v. Focus on Community Growth D. Create Tourism Destination Initiatives 2. Explore Creative ideas for Tourism Funds BACKGROUND Included in the 2024 budget are funds for a monument sign to be placed in downtown as an opportunity to use as a destination attraction and photo opportunity to promote and enhance our lakefront community. The intent was to order by year end, in order to install in 2025, as the community celebrates our sesquicentennial. City staff is looking for City Council direction on a preferred location in order to begin sign production and coordinate/ prepare the necessary installation. City staff has identified three sites and have prepared perspectives related to the key vistas.
