This constitutes a meeting of the Common Council pursuant to State ex rel. Badke v. Plan and Implement Quality of Life Assets and Community Amenities BACKGROUND On March 15, 2022, the Common Council awarded the Landscape Supply Storage Structure contract to RB3 Inc. When the contractor began work on-site in mid-June they ran into unsuitable soils for constructing the building as designed. ADDITIONAL ANALYSIS Since that time, we have worked with Giles Engineering to provide soil borings and analysis, Marshall Engineers to update structural engineering plans and the contractor to come up with a workable soluti0n. We plan to move forward to build a floating slab with extra steel reinforcement. This work will take approximately 5 extra days. FINANCIAL IMPACT The cost for this additional work is $24,700. We have $5,000 in contingency, so we are asking for a budget amendment of $20,000 to complete this project. $10,000 from Utilities and $10,000 from Capital Reserves. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended to approve Resolution 22-R3054, authorizing a budget amendment of $20,000 for the Landscape Supply Storage Structure. MOTION Move to recommend Resolution 22-R3054, authorizing a budget amendment of $20,000 for the Landscape Supply Storage Structure. 1 2  RESOLUTION NO. 22-R3054 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR THE LANDSCAPE SUPPLY STORAGE STRUCTURE WHEREAS, the City of Oconomowoc Common Council awarded the contract to RB3, Inc. to construct the new Landscape Supply Storage Structure, near the Municipal Services Building; and WHEREAS, unsuitable soils were found on-site that required additional structural engineering and additional materials and labor to properly construct the structure. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that a budget amendment in the sum of $20,000, is hereby accepted, and appropriate City officials are authorized to enter into a change order with RB3, Inc. for said project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council approves the budget amendment for $20,000 with funds coming from #408-507-7610-820 ($10,000); #601-573-7000-810 ($5,000); and #603-573-7000-810 ($5,000).
