Protection & Welfare Committee Meeting Minutes January 15, 2019 Chairman Rosek called the meeting to order at 6:53 PM. Members Present: Aldermen Rosek, Miller and Shaw Staff Present: Mayor Nold, Kitsembel, Freber, Sullivan, Gallo, Kelliher, Duffy, Pickart, Buerger, Frye, Pickart and Coenen Others Present: Alds. Strey and Kowieski 2. Consider/recommend Approval of the Suburban Mutual Assistance Response Teams (S.M.A.R.T.) Agreement: Buerger reported that in 1994 the City entered into the S.M.A.R.T. Agreement which has grown to include 71 communities. Due to the recent addition of 2 more communities, the agreement was reviewed by Atty. Riffle and because changes are necessary, as outlined in a memo from Municipal Law & Litigation Group, all participating municipalities need to approve the revised agreement prior to March 1, 2019. The Committee asked about membership fees and Buerger stated there is an initial one-time fee membership fee of $100.00. Motion by Shaw to recommend approval of the Suburban Mutual Assistance Response Teams (S.M.A.R.T.) Agreement; second by Miller. Motion carried 3-0. Motion by Rosek to adjourn; second by Miller.
