Protection & Welfare Committee Meeting Minutes September 17, 2019 Chairman Shaw called the meeting to order at 6:10 PM. Members Present: Aldermen Shaw, Spiegelberg and Rogers Staff Present: Mayor Nold, Kitsembel, Sullivan, Freber, Pickart, Frye, Gallo, Buerger, Hoeppner, Duffy and Coenen Others Present: Alds. Rosek, Zwart, Strey and Kowieski 2.a. Consider/recommend Construction Bid Award and Downward Revised Estimated Project Budget for New Public Safety Facility: Frye gave a PowerPoint presentation which included a drawing from 1896 outlining the first floor of City Hall. He went over construction budget line items and six alternates totaling $70,025. Of the alternates, the trench drain in the garage is being requested instead of installing catch basins because it will be easier to clean out. The Committee commented that more information on creating an outlot, paving of the parking lot and site modifications needs to be provided. Motion by Shaw to recommend the construction bid award to Camosy Construction and the revised project budget; second by Rogers. Motion carried 2-1. Spiegelberg voted no. Motion by Spiegelberg to adjourn; second by Shaw. Motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM. Minutes by Diane Coenen, City Clerk Ald.
