Special Common Council & Western Lakes Fire District Fire Board Meeting Minutes August 11, 2021 Mayor Magnus called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM. Members Present: Aldermen Mulder, Schellpeper, Kowieski, Rosek and Zapfel Absent: Alds. Spiegelberg and Ellis Staff Present: Mayor Magnus, Sullivan and Coenen Discussion/Action – 2022 Budget Amendment (Motorola Radios): Motion by Rosek to amend the 2022 budget approving Option 2; swapping out the radios that are eligible, replacing chargers and replacing ½ of the microphones to ensure all frontline Motorola radios have UL approved microphones at a cost of $46,147.80; second by Kowieski. Motion carried 5-0. Closed Session: Motion by Schellpeper to convene into Closed Session per Section 19.85(1)(e), Wisconsin State Statutes, Deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public property, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session regarding Contract Service Agreements with other Municipalities; second by Mulder. Motion carried 5-0. Closed Session convened at 6:23 PM. Motion by Schellpeper to reconvene into Open Session; second by Mulder. Motion carried 5-0. Open Session reconvened at 7:25 PM. Discussion/Action – Municipal Owners and Contracts: Motion by Rosek to accept the request from the Town of Oconomowoc, Town of Merton and Village of Merton to join the WLFD through Intermunicipal Agreement; second by Kowieski. Motion carried 5-0. Motion by Kowieski to adjourn the Joint Special Common Council and WLFD meeting; second by Schellpeper. The meeting adjourned at 7:33 PM.
