MEMBERS Sean Croucher, Chair Charles Harvey PRESENT Jason Hawkins, Co-Chair William “BJ” Begeman Stan Jones STAFF / OTHERS Christi Dickey, Administrative Coordinator Community Planning Jade Rodell-Tipton, Powell CWM, Inc. Karen Findora, City Clerk Bryan Rahn, Blue Springs Safety Storage South LLC Troy Woutzke, Electrical Superintendent Rich Wood, Lauber Municipal Law ABSENT None. CALL TO ORDER / Sean Croucher, Chair, called the meeting to order at 12:31 p.m. AGENDA ITEM 1 Chairperson Sean Croucher opened the public hearing at 12:31 p.m. with a request for PUBLIC HEARING / Correspondence from City Attorney Rich Wood, Lauber Municipal Law. Rich’s VARIANCE / recommendation was to not base the variance decision solely on potential liability issues. SIDEWALK-Section 42-66 (4) Exhibits: 1. Staff Report with attachments 2. Code Of Ordinance (By Reference) 05.10.2022 cd Page 1 of 3 APPLICANT Pine Creek Town Homes Blue Springs Safety Storage South LLC QUESTIONS Chairman Croucher, asked about the trees and the power poles in the area of the side walk, he asked if they were scheduled to be removed? Jade Rodell Tipton, Powell CWM, stated that the poles are to be removed, the applicant is trying to save the trees. Chairman Croucher, asked if they will be able to move the poles? STAFF Troy Woutzke, City Superintendent states they accessed the four poles, three poles did COMMENTS not belong to the city. However, all four poles were in bad shape, two broke off when removed. Troy felt they were a hazard and could be a safety issues. Bryan Rahn, Blue Springs Safety Storage South LLC, stated with the poles down that will help them work around the trees. Chairman Croucher, asked if they can move forward on the sidewalks with the four feet were they can and two feet minimum around the trees where they need to. Bryan Rahn, stated they can accommodate the request. HEARING CLOSED With no further testimony to be taken, Chairman Croucher closed the public hearing at 12:16 p.m. with a request for action on the petition. MOTION Board Member, BJ Begeman made a motion to allow the four foot distance from the curb and the two foot distance around the trees. SECOND Board Member Jason Hawkins. VOTE Sean Croucher- Aye BJ Begeman- Aye Jason Hawkins- Aye Charles Harvey- Aye (APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY) Stan Jones- Aye ELECTION CHAIRMAN BJ Begeman made a motion to elect Sean Croucher as Chairman. SECOND Board Member Charles Harvey. VOTE Stan Jones - Aye BJ Begeman – Aye Jason Hawkins- Aye Charles Harvey - Aye (APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY) VICE CHAIRMAN Sean Crouch made a motion to elect Jason Hawkins as Vice Chairman. SECOND Board Member Charles Harvey.
