Ogden Dunes Water Board Meeting Minutes Summary Date of meeting: April 10, 2023 Location: Town Hall In attendance: Jim Slawinski, Tom Cleland, Dave Snyder, Matt Moore, Julia Klingensmith, Karen Tallian. Absent: Devon DeMarco The following is a summary of notations made during the meeting: 1. Appoint minute taker: Tom Cleland appointed himself to take notes for minutes at this meeting. 2. Approve minutes from March 2023 meeting: Motion was made by Jim Slawinski to approve; motion seconded by Tom Cleland. 3. Water Department financial update: Month and year to date financial reports were presented by Julia Klingensmith; reviewed by Tom Cleland, Dave Snyder, and Matt Moore. 4. JS presented the remaining outstanding invoices of which there were only 5 at this time. 5. Julia Klingensmith presented the remaining proposals for the office upgrade work. A motion to approve this work was seconded by TC and approved to move forward. 6. The 1st quarter water and sanitation billing were reviewed with a few late paying customers. 7. The 2022 Water Quality report has been posted on the OD water Department website for review by all. 8. As for the USIC discussion, there are no further updates at this meeting on resolution of this ongoing issue. 9. As of the 1st quarter shutoffs, there are none currently. 10. Main breaker and electrical replacement – TC has contacted Brian Winter from NIPSCO to get on the schedule for relocation of the electric line when needed. 11. As for the main breaker replacement project, this work is being awarded to A and E Electric of Griffith, IN. 12. The NIPSCO overhead power line proposal has been received and this work should begin sometime late Spring ‘23. Still on schedule to start late May 2023. 13. The resident Zenner meter software update is still being worked out at Zenner. No release date has been set yet. 14. Booster station upgrade. There is discussion on the type of exterior materials for discussion. No scope of work has been set for this yet. 15. Booster station floor painting will be performed by the Street department once the weather warms up and the floor is cleaned. 16. Matt Moore is awaiting good weather and available manpower to begin cleaning out the valve boxes in roadways and assess conditions. 17. Backflow requirements – a notice was sent out in the 1st quarter billings as a reminder to begin inspections of ‘private’ backflow preventors for irrigation systems. 18. MM will be scheduling the first of 2 hydrant flushes for June 2023. 19. MM will be coordinating the fire pump testing with Chief Kurtz. 20. No resident remarks currently. 21. Closing remarks from board, etc.- Dave Snyder requested that ODWW look at installing a water line with yard hydrant to the Christmas Tree location to eliminate the use of a water hose.
