Ogden Dunes Water Board Meeting Minutes Summary
Date of meeting: July 10, 2023
Location: Town Hall and Zoom.
In attendance: Jim Slawinski, Tom Cleland, Dave Snyder, Matt Moore, Julia Klingensmith. OD
Resident Tom Davenport.
The following is a summary of notations made during the meeting:
1. Appoint minute taker: Tom Cleland appointed himself to take notes for minutes at this meeting.
2. Approve minutes from June 2023 meeting: Motion was made by Jim Slawinski to approve; motion
seconded by Tom Cleland.
3. Water Department June financial update: Month and year to date financial reports were presented
by Julia Klingensmith; reviewed by Tom Cleland, Dave Snyder, Jim Slawinski, and Matt Moore.
4. 2nd quarter billing went out 7/10 instead of 7/2 due to a billing error from the billing company. The
Water Bill due date was moved to August 12th due to the late mailing.
5. Late bill charge of $50.00 will go into effect once answers are received from Keystone and State
finance coding.
6. IAWC water increase will probably occur at the end of 2023. Will review at that time.
7. ‘Give and take’ Example of what is displayed when the water meter spins both clockwise and then
CCW.
8. As for the USIC discussion, there are no further updates at this meeting on resolution of this
ongoing issue.
9. Phase 1 of Electrical upgrade; the underground ducting in place and awaiting a timeline from
NIPSCO.
10. Phase 2 of Pump Station building update; awaiting bids due by 7/20/2023.
11. Phase 3 of landscape update; Smalls landscaping is quoting this work; awaiting further bids.
12. Zenner resident software update; nothing currently.
13. Pump station indoor painting; this work is delayed for a later date.
14. Street water main shutoff work; MM is concentrating on this scope of work to get ahead of future
pavement replacement work in the fall 2023.
15. Backflow response; nothing to report on this currently.
16. Fire pump test; MM is testing this pump on 7/13/2023 at 6 pm. along with the OD Fire
Department.
17. No resident remarks.
18. Next board meeting is 8/14/2023 at 4:30 pm.
