Ogden Dunes Water Board Meeting Minutes 4:30 PM Monday, January 8th, @ OD Town Hall Present: Jim Slawinski (JS) Tom Cleland (TC) Dave Snyder (DD) Via Zoom (DS) Matt Moore (MM) Julia Klingensmith (JK) Absent: Devon DeMarco (DD) • The November 2023 Water Board Minutes were unanimously approved by the Water Board Directors. • JK reviewed the December 2023 financial report. Upon review the Water Board Directors approved increasing future water cash to capital fund from 5% to 10% • JK gave an update on the 4Th quarter water bills as well as the current due date. • The group had a discussion involving the proposed new late bill amount of $50 in which $35 is for Water, $10 for Sanitation and the remaining $5 for Fire Water. DD, with help from JS, if necessary, will finalize an ordinance change that is to be submitted to the Town Council for their first reading by the February Town Council meeting. • JS mentioned that there is still no update involving the proposed IAW water rate increase, but he does expect to hear something by the 1st quarter of 2024. • TC discussed (Phase 2) the current contractor status involving the Booster Station Building Update. The first partial payment to the contractor was made in December. Only some minor work remains on the project. • The group approved the landscaping bid from Vega Landscaping. TC will be contacting Vega requesting an official contract as well as looking at the possibility of starting the non-planting related work as soon as the weather permits. • The group approved the retainer wall bid from Ralph Iatrola. Work will commence on this wall, located between the pump house and garage, as soon as Ralph returns from his vacation in late January, weather permitting. • The group discussed the possibility of a building identification sign as well as a location. • MM reported that we are still trying to resolve the issue with having the Fire Pump Throttle Moter rebuilt. There has been some recent discussion with Eric Jenson & Tim Morris and hopefully this project will get on track. • MM mentioned that he is in possession of a check list provided by TC and will be getting started on the miscellaneous work required inside the pump house. • JS mentioned that he has not heard back from the Zenner Sales Representative involving Resident Software Development as well as the current Zenner Software Maintenance Bill. JS is somewhat discouraged with their lack of response. • JS discussed the recent reduction in water usage by IAW that started taking place in early December of 2023. MM mentioned that his contact at IAW mentioned to him that they recently discovered and repaired a leak which may have contributed to the 25% reduced volume. • MM gave an update on the main water shutoff valve repair project. • The Water Board Meeting concluded at 5:20 PM. The next scheduled meeting is currently scheduled for February 12th @ 4:30 PM at the OD Town Hall but subject to change based on DD’s work schedule. CURRENT CAPITAL PROJECTS Phase 2 Building Upgrade in Progress 95% complete Phase 3 Outdoor Landscaping to start early 2024.
