Water Board Meeting

Ogden Dunes Water Board Meeting Minutes Summary Date of meeting: May 15, 2024 Location: Town Hall. In attendance: Jim Slawinski, Tom Cleland, Dave Snyder, Matt Moore, and Leslie Tyburski. The following is a summary of notations made during the meeting: 1. Appoint minute taker: Tom Cleland appointed himself to take notes for minutes at this meeting. 2. Approve minutes from April 2024 meeting: Motion was made by Jim Slawinski to approve; motion seconded by Tom Cleland. 3. Reviewed the April 2024 fund report with JS and rest of members. 4. 1st quarter water/sanitation update: There are 62 late payments due at this time, no shutoffs at this time.. 5. Still awaiting a replacement water board member at this time. 6. The additional water expenses for additional payroll and benefits were discussed and awaiting figures fro JK. 7. Late Water/Sanitation bill payment; discussion was held that if consumers sign up for ‘autopay’ the water board would DEDUCT the late fee. 8. New Ordinance 905 – Fire protection service charge flat fee was approved by the Town Council. 9. IAWC rate increase has now been in effect since 2/2024. Average increase works out to approximately 19% per invoice. 10. Our April water loss calculation is at approximately 3% based on the differential reading from the meter to our Zenner software reporting. 11. USIC/811 billing: JK is summarizing what is outstanding to report back to USIC for clarification. 12. Backflow testing update; residents are currently turning their backflow reports as needed. 13. Automated water testing; this idea/consideration will be postponed and revisited once the current contract expires in 2 years. 14. Booster pump upgrade; awaiting a response from Peerless pumps on a backup/replacement pump/motor arrangement. 15. The 2024 CCR water quality report has been posted on the OD website for residents review. 16. A new building sign is being looked into for the building upgrades. 17. Phase 3 landscaping work is completed at the booster station; work completed by Vega’s Landscaping. 18. MM will be coordinating with the fire department to perform a fire pump test after Memorial weekend. 19. MM will be performing annual fire hydrant testing/flushing after the Memorial weekend. 20. Zenner customer portal and payment system; no further discussion done at this time. 21. MM has concern with 3 main gate valve operations of which will be addressed this summer 2024. 22. No residents remarks at this time. 23. Closing remarks; DS discussed the idea of getting all underground improvements mapped out and placed on ‘Bluebeam’ at some point. MM will be in charge of coordinating this work. 24. Next board meeting is June 10, 2024.
