Ogden Dunes Water Board Meeting Minutes 5:00 PM Tuesday June 11th, @ OD Town Hall Present: Jim Slawinski (JS) Tom Cleland (TC) Dave Snyder (DS) Matt Moore (MM) Leslie Tyburski (LT) Absent: Julia Klingensmith (JK) • The June Water Board Meeting started at 4:50 AM with JS taking minutes • The May 2024 Water Board Minutes were unanimously approved by the Water Board Directors. • With JK being absent the May 2024 Water Department Fund Report will be made available at a later date. • JS Reviewed the first quarter 2024 water/sanitation bill which involved approximately 55 late notices and 20 shutoff notices. There were no water shutoffs. • JS mentioned that two or three OD Residents took advantage of the incentive that was offered to all residents involved with a late bill notice in which the late fee was waved providing that the resident signs up for auto payments. • Still waiting for employer approval for potential new Water Board Member LT. • JS discussed at the June Town Council Meeting the Indian American Water Rate and the Water Board agreeing to absorb the 19.3% water rate increase for at least one year. • Still waiting to hear back from USIC involving the billing issue information that was provided to them from JK. • The group discussed the Future Water Department Capital Project List provide by TC. JS made the recommendation to highlight priorities on the list. • With JK not being present there was no update available involving the Residential Backflow Compliance Report. • JS mentioned that using the current Zenner Software he will be able to check to see if there are any residents with irrigation systems that require a backflow device that are not on our current listing. • TC & MM discussed the possibility and advantage of installing a totally new fire hydrant at the end of Ogden Road. • MM will investigate what is required to replace #3 booster pump as well as a possible impeller upgrade. • JS mentioned that the final action required involving the recent OD Water Quality Report will be to add the link to the July Water Bill. • The Water Board Directors approved a maximum of $2000 (not to exceed) for Doug Cannon to construct a new Booster Pump House Sign. • TC will contact Vega Landscaping and have them address the weeds on the south side of the Booster Station. • MM commented that the Fire Pump Test went well, and the new fire pump throttle motor appears to be working. • MM reported that the Fire Hydrant Inspection/Flushing/Lubricating/adjoining shutoff valve project is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the week.  • JS reported that there is no update involving the Zenner Software Bill as well as the availability of residential customer software. • MM will make the necessary arrangements for an outside supplier to service any water gate shutoff valves that he is not able to get in working order. • DS mentioned that he would like to see if there was any additional method to contact OD Residents about a potential late water/sanitation bill. JS mentioned that we already make numerous phone calls, send out e-mail blasts, post on the OD Web Page as well as multiple Facebook pages and was not sure what more can be done. • DS talked about the possibility of removing the obsolete siren from the tower close to the Pump House due to a potential safety (falling) issue. JS mentioned that the Zenner Repeater Antenna is the only other item on the tower and is currently picking up 100% of the required signal at its current location, with no clear advantage involved with raising it any higher. • There were no closing remarks from anyone present and the meeting adjourned at approximately 6:20 PM • Next Water Board Meeting will be Monday, July 8th at 4:00 PM at the Town Hall.
