Ogden Dunes Water Board Meeting Minutes 4:30 PM Monday, August 12th, 2024 @ OD Town Hall Present: Jim Slawinski (JS) Tom Cleland (TC) Dave Snyder (DS) Matt Moore (MM) Leslie Tyburski (LT) Julia Klingensmith (JK) • The August 2024 Water Board Meeting started at 4:30 PM with JS taking minutes • The July 2024 Water Board Minutes were unanimously approved by the Water Board Directors. • There was a presentation by Terrence Williams from M.E. Simpson involving gate valve, hydrant & meter vault GPS. The Water Board will review the proposal and decide how to possibly move forward on the project. Matt Moore to provide an updated quote at least two weeks prior to the next Water Board meeting. • JK Reviewed the Water Department Fund Report Month to Date. The Water Board Directors voted to take $50 K out of the Operating Fund and purchase a 7 Month CD since the bank is currently paying very little interest. • JK & JS reported on the 2nd quarter Water/Sanitation Bill Payment Activity as well as the Late Payment Incentive results. • The Water Board Directors agreed to pay the Town Of Ogden Dunes out of the Water Department Operating fund the amount of $25,225.00 to cover employee benefit makeup cost for all of calendar year 2024. Starting in 2025 it will be broken down into a regular monthly payment. • The entire group congratulated Leslie Tyburski, who is now an official Water Board Member. • JS mentioned that he will be providing LT Zenner Software Training soon. • JK will make the necessary arrangements with the bank so LT can sign both claims and checks. • There has been no change involving the USIC/Indiana long standing billing issue. The water department will continue to process payments but only for work performed within the town of Ogden Dunes. • The group discussed how billing is handled involving empty homes. No changes will be made. • Using available Zenner Software JS will provide an accurate 2023 Water Loss Audit to the party requesting the information. • MM gave an update on the Pump House Security Camera Project • JK will provide an updated Backflow Check List. Using available Zenner Software JS will continue to check for residents who have irrigation systems but are not on our current backflow list. • TC & MM gave an update on the new fire hydrant installation on Ogden Road. Work is to commence on Thursday, August 15th and boil order notices will be posted on the homes that will be affected by the temporary water shutoff. • TC and MM gave an update on the booster pump rebuilding project. One new and one rebuilt pump is scheduled to be installed before the end of the week, at which time all three pumps will be back in service with one spare pump out for rebuilding. Once complete MM will make the necessary arrangement to repaint the floor.  • TC will check with Doug Cannon to get a timeline on the new sign for the pump house. • JS mentioned the importance of keeping up daily with weed control around the pump house. LT mentioned that she was willing to help with additional planting to make a very nice area look even nicer. • JS commented that there was no new update to the Zenner Customer Portal or the Zenner Software Billing. • MM gave an update on the Street Water / Hydrant Main Shutoff Valve Repair Project. • DS commented that the Current Late Water / Sanitation Bill Incentive involving auto pay should have some sort of deadline and not go on indefinitely. • The meeting concluded at 6:00 PM X Tom Cleland Water Board Director X Jim Slawinski Water Board Director X Leslie Tyburski Water Board Director
