MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHRISTMAS VILLAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF OGDEN, UT MARCH 1, 2017 PAGE I OF 2 C>~c(~ CHRISTMAS VILLAGE ~ Chrtstmas ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING V11lage Mmutes of the regular meetmg of the Christmas VIllage Advisory Committee held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 5 00 p m at the Ogden City Pubhc Works Bmldmg, 133 West 291h Street, Ogden, Weber County, Utah Members Present LouAnn Kamigakl Diane Nelson Nicole Lovell Stephanie Grundie Ashley Wilson Craig Biehk Erme Terrazas Sub Comm1ttee Sherry Femn Members Absent Holly Smsse Nikki Lovell Stepharue Blllmgs Sandra Tuck Sandra Tuck Creig Paskms Cmdi Hellewell BevRudd Ex-Offic1o Perry Huffaker, Pubhc Ways and Parks, Manager Stacey Olsen, Pubhc Services, ProJect Coordmator CALL TO ORDER Mr Biehk called the meetmg to order at 5 00 p m, did roll call, welcomed and thanked all the committee members for commg APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr Biehk asked for a motiOn to approve the mmutes Ms Kam1gaki motioned to approve the mmutes from February 1, 2017 Ms Lovell seconded Committee approved VICE CHAIR Mr Btehk thanked Ms Kamigakl for her time as Chau and the amazmgJob she did We need to vote m a new VIce Chair Mr Terrazas motioned to have Ms Ashley Wilson as V1ce Cha1r Ms Kam1gakl seconded Committee approved THEME Mr Biehk asked If anyone had any Idea for this year's theme Ms Wilson suggested "Let's Get Crackm" The committee hke It Ms Lovell motioned to have our theme, "Let's Get Crackln" Ms Nelson seconded Committee approved Ms Wilson said she would contact Ms Packham and see If her designers can come up With a sweatshirt design HONORARY MAYOR Mr Biehk asked for Ideas for Honorary Mayor Ms Ferrm suggested havmg Santa Mike Wiggill's Wife and son, be Honorary Mayor The committee hked that Idea Ms Wilson mot10ned to have Lmda and N1ck W1gglll as the 2017 Honorary Mayors of Chnstmas VIllage Ms Nelson seconded Committee approved Ms Ferrm satd she would ask the Wigglll's m a few months, MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHRISTMAS VILLAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF OGDEN, UT MARCH I, 2017 PAGE 2 OF 2 once thmgs have settled down for them OPEN DISCUSSION • Breakfast with Santa- Ms Kamigala asked If anyone wanted to JOm the subcommittee for the Breakfast With Santa This subcommittee will meet at a different time and then report to this committee Mr Biehk volunteered • Opemng Ceremony - The committee discussed havmg a video of pictures rotatmg and Christmas music on before the ceremony and then after havmg It come back on, rather than an entertamer • Nightly Entertamment- The committee feels hke we have less entertamment on the stage then m past years This year they would hke to go to the schools m September, dehver a flyer that mvites their students to come perform on our stage Ms Kamigala also felt that we should have someone there to greet the performers Mr Biehk satd lets discuss the stage more at the next meetmg • Ms Kamigala feels we should advertise more that we are NatiOnally Ranked m the Top 10 Christmas CelebratiOns m the Country This will help With donations and sponsorships • Store- The committee feels we need some cheaper Items m the store Ms Ferrm suggested earmuffs, gloves and Chap Stick We need to decide what days and hours we Will be open Each year we have a hard time feehng all the volunteer slots Mr Biehk suggested we trunk about some Ideas on how to run the store and come prepared to dtscuss them at the next meetmg • Ms Olsen said that our Wednesday meetmg IS hard for her to attend She IS at the courts until 5pm on this day and cannot make the meetmgs on hme The committee discussed different days and the hme we start Ms Wilson motioned we move our meetmg to the first Thursday of the month and have the meetmg start at 4 00 pm Ms Nelson seconded Committee approved NEXT MEETING The next meetmg for the Christmas VIllage Advisory Committee IS Thursday, Apnl 6, 2017 at 4 OOpm The meetmg locatiOn IS the Ogden Pubhc Works Bmldmg, 133 West 29th Street ADJOURNMENT With no further busmess to discuss, Ms Kam1gakl motiOned to adJourn, motiOn seconded by Ms Nelson Committee approved The meetmg of the Christmas VIllage Advtsory Committee adJourned at 6 15 p m Mmutes Prepared By Ieh , au tstmas VIllage Advtsory Commtttee Date Approved _t......_--"""""b_--'-f--']1------
