Mmutes of the regular meeting of the Christmas Village Advisory Committee held Thursday, June
7, 2018 at 5:00p.m. at the Public Works Buildmg, 133 West 29th Street, Ogden, Weber County,

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ms. Hellewell called the meeting to order and had everyone introduce himself or herself.
We have two sets of minutes to approve. Ms. Kamigaki motioned to approve the March 1, 2017
and May 3, 2017 mmutes, with the correctiOn to Ms. Tuck's name. Seconded by Ms.·Ritz.

HARVEST MOON
Ms. Ritz showed a craft tdea usmg a cloths pin and making them into snowmen. She said she will
spray paint them ahead of time and can glue magnets on the back side so they can hang it on their
fridge with a reminder of the breakfast wtth Santa The Harvest Moon is on September 22. Ms.
Olsen remmded everyone that Ms. Packham was gomg to get a colored tent for the committee to
use
FLOAT
Ms. Ritz volunteered to take the lead on the float. She suggested getting some round wood and
spray paint them gold and label them "Best In State". She will find a ttme to meet Mr Terrazas
and crew at the warehouse to look at the float
PHOTOOPS
Ms. Lovell said she has three chandehers she wtll donate to the Vtllage for the photo ops. We wtll
have to place them high enough that they will not be vandahzed or stolen, but low enough they
can still be in the photo. Mr. Terrazas felt we should just add one photo op this year The crews
will work on the chandelier photo op.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA UPDATES
Ms. Lovell mentioned that Mr. Garcia would like to decorate the Gratitude Train.
Ms Hellewell will set up a meeting with the Union Station so we can get a floor plan drawn up
Ms. Lovell stated that we could get some large cheap snowflakes at All a Dollar and hang them
from the ceiling. She also suggested gettmg some large boxes and wrapping them to decorate the
stage.
Ms Kam1gaki received bids from Golden Corral and McKay Dee Catering Ms. Lopez received
a bid from the Union Grill. Ms Kamigak1 will clarify With McKay Dee that they will provide the
utensils and plates. Ms. Lopez will have Umon Grill revise their quote with no drinks
Ms. Lovell reported that Ms. Nicole Lovell is planning to arrange the Elves She requested more
funds for hats and material for skirts. We have to wait until the new fiscal year to appropnate
money for material.
Ms. Olsen will ask Paul Mitchell School if they would like to do face painting again this year.
Ms. Olsen will email Mr. Bielik and make sure he has secured the Magic Man.
Ms. Grund1e stated that her daughter is planning to donate 300 muffins and cupcakes for the
breakfast. She owns a business in Stockton Utah.
Ms Lopez knows a person that makes balloon ammals. She said she would see if he is available
HONORARY MAYOR
Ms. Olsen reported that the Huffaker children are honored to accept the Honorary Mayor Award
on behalf of their parents; Perry and Sarah Huffaker.
OPEN DISCUSSION
Ms. Ritz suggested adding treats in the store. Ms. Lovell stated that Umted Way used to
have a Jelly Belly license. They may still have one and be willing to purchase some Jelly
Belly's for us. Ms. Tuck is looking for items we can sell in the store. She has found some
antique's at yard sales that she thinks will sell well m the store. Ms Lovell suggested
looking at the company called "Lake Shore" They have some cute music boxes and trains
Mr. Stewart stated that the Huffaker children have asked If they could have the "PH" that
was hung in the tree.
Mr Terrazas reported that this would be his last meeting He is retiring in July.

The next meetmg for the Christmas Village Advisory Committee IS Thursday, August 2, 2018 at
4:00pm The meeting location is at the Ogden Public Works Bmldmg
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss, Ms. Lovell motioned to adjourn, motion seconded by Ms.
Kamigaki. Committee approved. The meeting of the Christmas Village Advisory Committee
adjourned at 5:00p.m.
